Making my first MechDroid

Well I finished all my GDI-RevengeForce buildings this morning, and instead of jumping into making the Venom faction I decided to take a break and screw around for a few days making odd's and end's bullcrap stuff. So enough of the babbling, how's my mech looking so far?

Looks like an Ork warmech from 40k... Good mech inspiration can be found in the Classic BattleTech and MechWarrior universes, If you are looking for some.

Anyway @ Cranium if you want to make serious stuff appealing to look at,you should make some sketches first. Look how it comes out on paper. Then you go into the 3D-modelling. Look at some good 3D models other people created. Get some ideas. Then work them out with care and detail.

A sphere with a minigun sticking out is not really very cool to look at. It would be way cooler if it had some sort of arms (like the wolverine from TS), or an original idea. Now it seems like you just stuck a gun in it's head because it HAD to be armed with something. It just looks like a tennisball that has gone bezerk this way.

Look at militairy vehicles used by the militairy today, and use the things you like about them, building an original, solid, believable and cool design.

If you think you don't have enough 3D-experience try signing up at digital tutors: www.digitaltutors.com, and follow some courses. You may be reluctant because you have to pay a little money but you can learn a lot in just a few days. And it's knowledge you can use for the rest of your life.

Legs look good. Remove the texture. Remove the cocpit, leave the legs and make a new one. From a box....

They are alright, but as VEF pointed out the cockpit needs a redo. The design is up to you but I would prefer something less spherical.
