Can it be done? I'm working on replacing the cyborg reapers deathframes logic (which has the veterancy bug) by an "explosion" anim that really is his death frames. But so far I haven't been able to get the team colors to display in the death animation. I've tried AltPalette=yes and importing the animation in SHP builder as an animation and building animation. I can get building animations to display team colors, but is this because they are listed as activeanimations for buildings?

Well, a building anim is "owned" by the building and therefore the owner of the building, hence its ability to remap to the correct colour.

As for other anims, if they are not "owned" in the same way, I guess they will not remap correctly. Look at weapon projectiles like the Chem Missile - unless a team colour is specified, it will always display the default remap red.

Obviously it's not possible to have a random animation display team colours. I doubt you can have an explosion from a tank shell, display the team colours of which ever house fired it, even if the animation had remap colours in it. The animations are just generated, not owned by particular houses. Building Active Anims obviously are excluded from this.

Correct. I was referring to the webguy animation. That can be given remap.

Eh...just read the above two posts. The WebGuy anim is a special case that can have remap. Death anims AFAIK can't.
