Right, so I've searched but not really found anything constructive on this, jonwil taking requests for custom UI stuff, but that's about it (did give him a PM about it though #Tongue).

However, figured I'd post and ask if anyone knows how to actually change the layout of the buttons on the main menu?

I'm guessing you'll need the coordinates and stuff like that to put in somewhere, but where? and how do I see what coordinates are the right ones in photoshop?

It's likely that PPM doesn't have much experienced C&C3 modders. Just keep asking at every C&C3 modding forums you can find. Smile

Nope, I did some [1] [2] UI stuff in Tower Defense, but its kinda hard to explain how its done via a forum so I didn't answer. Basically its just xml stuff but there are many users here that are inexperienced with xml or don't/won't understand how things work together.

Hmmm, yeah I started researching the whole UI crapola when I didn't get any answers..

However, I've managed to use jonwils tool "apt2xml" to get the apt related files into xml, but um... it's a really confusing wall of text mind you..

Basically what I want to do is remove the "tutorial" and "campaign" buttons and their sub buttons, and line my buttons up much like the way you have Ju-Jin at the bottom, and probably change the coordinates for where it takes the "idle" "mouse-over" "activated" etc. textures..

but yeah, bloody confusing stuff, don't know where the zog to begin #Tongue

For removing stuff just search for their string id and look for the shape or whatever id, then look for a placeobject or what its called and remove that entry.
Sorry for being a bit fuzzy, don't have the files here and did something with that about a year ago or more ^^

Thanks for the not-so-detailed help Ju-Jin, but it'll probably help me in the right direction in my quest for a proper looking menu at least!

I'm also trying to change the coordinates of where the different buttons grab their textures from... bloody confusing too #Tongue

Maybe you could share your apt or whichever file it was from that tower defense mod so i could use it as reference?
