A short summary of what I'm doing is making a mod of RA2 (pre-YR) with a little more realness built in. Not too much though, as to kill the fun, but certain things bothered me about the game out of the box after I played it a while.

First thing I did was put a Starcraft style shroud in. I did this by duplicating the gap generator and giving it to the civilians and pre-placing them on the map. That gaps the whole map and puts the realalistic unknown back into the map if it's not your occupied territory.

This has created an issue because the gap comes almost right up to your own buildings and so you have to periferal vision so to speak. I've tried to change the Sight= var for my buildings but it does nothing against the gap. I've resorted to having to build out with little observation posts to increase my perimeter field of view.

I have tried using the outhouse from the game and a modified patriot, but neither are working right. Does anyone have a guard tower type vxl built that I can use? If this mod ever gets shared, I can promise the proper credit will get passed on unless I learn how to make my own and reaplace it at a later time.

Along with that, how can I make it so that the guard tower can be placed much farther away from home base? I don't want to have to build them every 4 units or so and eat precious land to build my base on.
