I've been looking through the rules.ini, and firestrm.ini to try and find how to change drop pod contents. Haven't had any luck.

Can anyone help me out?

They are hardcoded to use E1 and E2.
You can only open the game.exe with a hex editor and change the strings "E1" and "E2" at offset 30FEF4 and 30FEF8 into another infantry ID (keep in mind that the ID must be 2 character long so you don't change any offset after these) .

However you can't play online anymore if the other player doesn't has your modified exe too.

Another option is to change the [E1] and [E2] to your new infantry, then create new infantry to replace the ones you modified.

^^ But then you have to change every other appearance of E1 and E2 in ai.ini and rules.ini. (e.g. survivor of buildings, ai teams)

But you get the desired outcome without exe editing.

yea unless you use a pre-edited exe which includes these changes (like ETS [but you get more suport if your a tib-edit user than using this one branded savuour/superpatch] or the Hyper patch which isnt out yet so dont hold your breath)
the two posted options are realy the only other ways of editing the droppod inf

It's a difference to encourage people changing some simple ASCII characters in a exe and encourage them to disassemble and add new code to the exe.

@ Revolutionary, just lol. There is a massive difference from using an every day hex editor to change two bytes and someone trying to add code to new exe. So encouraging this isn't exactly hypocritical.
