Subject description: How can I transfer graphics properly into textures for .vxl-files ?

To convert unit graphics and textures for voxels into the TS unit palette, I tried making one for GIMP by taking a screenshot of the unit palette in the voxel editor, openening it GIMP and converting the picture into a palette, but everything I converted with that palette looked weird in TS Sad, what means that the palette does´'t work.

Everything looks absolutely normal in the Mixer, but ingame all units where I used the Textures look like this:

Edit3: Now I somehow came arcross that http://www.ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=27368 and tried importing that palette. While this palette looked normal in GIMP, converting all my voxel textures with it didn't help. Units still looked the same ugly way in tiberian Sun.

Btw. Now I got pink ones and green ones #Crazy#Smile_colors #Crazy

Finally.... I managed to get rid of this gay rainbow effect by turning the saturation of the colors completly down (making it grey) and replacing the remappable colors manually . Though I still hope someone replies to this post, as it will be insanely hard with colorful textures (making them grey and replacing the grey voxels by hand). #All_Coholic

IIRC, some colors on voxels doesn't work perfectly in-game. I recall that here's somesort of palette in somewhere, which you can use in voxel editor to see which colors won't work.

VXLSE has a script to fix this, go to: Scripts > Colour Scheme > Others > Kill (2-15) and (239-255) colours. That should fix most of the bad colours.

I tried it with the kill colors thing, but those colors weren't the real problem.

After having these problems with a shp file, I noticed, that colors 160-167 (dark brown tones) were the bad boys. Also I think that some other brown colors look weird in the game.

Probably also due to this, it helped making the texture grey (as then the fromerly brown colors became grey).
