I don't normally bitch about my shitty days, but I just have to this time. It just doesn't seem to end today. So many little things that are just pissing me the hell off.

At least the day started normally, I got up and went out to mow the lawn. It's summer now, so it's naturally hot as ztype. And not the good kind of hot. The wet, sticky hot that sucks ass. Anyway, I got the lawn mowed and went to trim with the weedeater. I fired it up and it quit as soon as I gave it some gas. I was like what the hell. I tried again and it did the same thing. *rage face* Filled it up, trimmed along the house, rocks, trees and stuff. We have a second weedeater with a guard that's great for fences, which I wanted to do. I fired that son of a bitch up and the string... emptied itself out. So I was left with none. *rage face* I was just pissed by this point so I didn't even restring it. I just got out the blower and did the clean up.

Fast forward after I shower. A gigantic ztype of a thunderstorm rolls in out of a goddamn NOWHERE. Still not that unusual for my area, so I went and grabbed a pizza from the dollar store and came home. I cooked it, and after I started eating. Power goes out. So now I'm sitting in the basement, where it's dark as hell because of the thunderstorm. I raged again, went upstairs and ate my pizza.

I looked outside and watched the rain pour down. It was a doozy of a storm, especially when the weather forecasters on predicted a 30 percent chance of rain for my town. So I lay down on the couch to sleep because... there's shit else to do. I must have actually fallen asleep cause when I woke up, over an hour had passed. Still no power either.

My dad was in the basement, playing his guitar when the power came back finally. You'd think that was a bright spot, but... no. I sat down in my office chair, powered up my PC and was greeted with "DISK READ ERROR. HIT ANY KEY TO REBOOT." I was like... alright, that can happen if I lose power in the middle of work. I rebooted and was greeted with a black screen and flashing cursor. Now, I was started to get irritated and upset. I turned my PC off, let it sit for a minute and tried again. Same thing, black screen and flashing cursor. I mentioned it to my dad, and he gave me some suggestions since he'd seen it before, but then I got a progress meter and the XP splash screen came up. But that sat with the blue bar loading for quite a while before it came up to a black screen of nothing and fail.

By then, I was really, really pissed off. I turned it off, unhooked the son of a bitch and tossed it on the workbench. I got my 320GB SATA drive, crammed the cables into my case and hooked my PC back up. I booted it up and everything was ztyping PURPLE. Even the goddamn BIOS was PURPLE. I didn't care, I wanted to make sure my BIOS saw the drive and it did. I exited the BIOS, saving my changes and let it boot. Came up with the screen that says "Windows did not shut down normally... blah blah ztyping blah." For shits and grins, I chose start normally.

GODDAMN THING BOOTED RIGHT UP. Everything was still purple and even my mom had a wtf face when she saw it.

I unhooked the damn thing AGAIN, reseated my video card and hooked it back up. Booted fine, and the color is good again.

I don't know what fixed it, but I am reinstalling Windows again tomorrow because that was the issue.

Just... ARGH.

I've had days like that. Work two jobs, one in the sticky wet heat then go work with a bunch of incompetent morons who can't do much due to pot-related mental damages, then get home to find out I'm getting no food. Then, internet goes. For days. Then it rains so I can't really go places (I drive only a motorcycle, and a rainstorm is a big enough of an obstacle to avoid driving) so I end up having to deal with an xbox 360 that won't play any form of games that aren't 3 years old.

Shittyday is shitty.

Unlucky? I guess not. You've got poor anger and computer management. Try upgrading your computer. At least it isn't that worse.

We all have shitty days, and a good vent is the way to go. I remember one day when my PC refused to do anything other than go to a black screen with a white flashing line so I decided to go out for a drive seeing as the weather was nice in my recently fixed (spent $1000) car. The bugger wouldn't start and kept stalling until it warmed up, and when I finally got onto the road only after a few minutes of driving my back tyre blew. After getting it repaired an hour later I took it to get filled up with gas and gave it one of those manual washes with the power washers and foaming brush. About 5 minutes after getting back in it, it absoloutely chucked it down with nice muddy rain and the car stalled in the middle of a busy road. Got hme after such a shit day and turned on the PC...

Guess what happened.

You sir, are a moron.
I'm sorry, there just isn't any other way to say it, and you should probably be told so before it's too late.

What makes a day shitty, I mean really shitty, is when you do everything in your power but things which you cannot control go wrong.

What's shitty is to walk on the mountain on 34 degrees Celsius with (yeah) one of those ztyping hot moments for just 12 hours.

Honestly, what happened to you Fen is simply a unlucky day and that's it.

No. Murphy's law is if it is possible for someone to do something wrong they will.
Sod's law is if it can go wrong it will.
My law is Eldrei is a moron.

Fen's the kind of guy who as a 320gig drive spare. Does this strike you as the kind of man with obsolete hardware?

As for the anger management you can be qquiet. It's a wonder he doesn't verbally rip you lim from limb (and don't think he won't, he's been banned thrice, twice for just that IIRC) so I'd advise you to leave this thread now. Considering the raw cash value of the parts in his machine, coupled with the data on it, he's quite right to be so pissed, I have what, 100gig of data, most of it being trivial or becked up on an SVN. I'm pretty sure fen's amount makes that look small.

A 320gb spare isn't that out of the ordinary. Especially considering you can get a 320gb hard drive for 30 bucks, and an external enclosure for 15.

Nobody cares about anything you have to say.

Why the hell are you even still here? You never add a goddamn thing to any thread you infect.

You don't know much about hardware, do you? A 320GB internal SATA drive is still around fifty bucks and a good enclosure will run about thirty. Still cheaper to grab a USB-powered external.

I actually do have obsolete hardware, but it's not my main PC. :p
