Possible way to emulate cloakstop?
As you may or may not know, the cloakstop key doesn't work in TS. It should make the unit stealthed when its not moving, but it simply doesn't do anything. But I was thinking, could Disguised=yes be used to emulate it for infantry? Give an infantry unit Disguised=yes, then create another shp of the infantry where you've deleted all the standing and idle frames (remember to delete the shadows too!). Then create a fake new infantry unit and give this shp as its appearance. Then change the Disguise=E1 line in rules.ini to this fake infantry. This should allow you to see the real infantry unit, even when its standing, while enemy players would see the edited version of the shp with no standing frames.
On paper this should work, but I'm not sure if the whole Disguised logic works in TS. Could someone test it? My other computer's monitor is busted so can't set up a LAN match to see if it works. QUICK_EDIT
The problem is, that the disguised standing infantry would be only invisible for the human eye. If you move your cursor over the unit it would show you that there is a unit and you can select it.
In addition are disguised units never attacked by the AI and the AI is completely unable to detect them. (the RA1 dog logic to find such a spy is not present)
Also as a player you will always see the unit in it's normal anim. This is completely different to stealthed units which have also for the player a visible cloaked stage.
So theoretically it would work, but it would have such many flaws, that it wouldn't be practical ingame imo. _________________ SHP Artist of Twisted Insurrection: Nod buildings
