Offtopic: What do you people do to your harddrives? I've had a personal pc for 22+ years now and never had a harddrive fail. For me, harddrives are among the pc components I upgrade the least often, so I wouldn't assume I haven't had a failure simply because I got a new one before giving the old one a chance to fail. Though I'll admit I don't leave my pc running continuously for days/weeks on end, which is the stupidest thing I've ever heard of doing to a pc.

Harddrive fail, what's that? :p

@Azri_Apoc: I hope you can save most of your work because it'd be shame if that kind of quality work will be gone forever... :/

doesnt take much to get it busted by a virus. Though the only time I had a problem was when I decided to pirate a game thats impossible to find in stores or Ebay .-. I found the game 2 weeks later, but me laptop was not available. Ironic.

Actually, it's more beneficial to leave your PC running than to turn it off every day. Constantly powering on or rebooting causes stress on all of your PC components that it would otherwise not require. The reason that hard drives fail isn't what people do with their PCs. It's an electronic component in the end and every single one has a failure rate. A lack of failure in your own experience is just a long running string of luck, as any avid PC technician will tell you.

HDD's are the most likely component of a PC to fail as they are the only component with physical moving parts (minus fans ofc)
Just gotta wait until SSD's start improving (price and specs)
Also FurryQueen is right about leaving your computer on, which is why in most big business' computers are left on over night. Switching on and off every day increases failure rate.
Personally I switch mine off when i'm finished with it though unless im downloading or somethin
Hmm this has gone abit OT hasnt it lol

Hope you can salvage as much as you can mate.
Anyways, I wished I could let my PC stay on, but for some reason it begins to freak out when active for too long. The only bad habit my pc has Confused

Maxtor used to be a brand I would recommend since they produced really good hard drives, until they were bought out by Seagate. However, I cannot, in good conscience, ever recommend Seagate. Seen way too many fail.

Be that as it may, you should probably go away now.

Ughh, Seagate. Don't get me started...

Also, beware of Toshiba brand laptop sized ones- they don't like heat.

Yeah, Western Digitals are one of the best quality HDDs. Avoid Seagates at all costs.

I've lost 4 HDDs until now: 1 Western Digital, 1 Maxtor, 1 Seagate and one laptop hdd from an unknown manufacturer.

I use now for more than 2-5 years 6 Samsung HDDs (in different sizes 2x80GB Spinpoint, 2x160GB Spinpoint 1614N, 1x500GB HD502IJ, 1x1TB HD103UJ) and am quite fond of them. No problems until now, very silent and good access speed.

On topic: Please make some big-ass ships or some big aircraft. E.g. a yuri mothership disc similar to the Independence Day City ships. Then allow the yuri mothership to deploy/land (new art with open hangar door) and release small attack drones (using carrier logic).

Dear lord, I haven't noticed the updates.

I seriously cannot wait to see more man.

You can make these things like crazy, and they're all quality work. 5/5.

I was looking through the Google images results for interesting hover tanks, and this one came up - I would rather like it with the Yuri-ish look. Thoughts?

Even without the dual barrels, it is an interesting prospect for me - I might do a voxel of it if you decide not to Smile

The turret is too close to the front. It should be placed further towards the back to balance the vehicle (unless you want to waste power to excess thrust)

Yeah, Seagates are quite a poor quality HDDs. Cheap but can make a lot of problems later, mine Seagate has broken after 6 months of usage. Not only mine #Tongue

i'm planning to make all 3 sides will have their own specific hover tanks, Allied already have one on my previous release, Soviet and Yuri's will be next...

actually that "Kodiak" heavy tank was inspired from that RA1 Heavy Tank, but i did some modification based from my own design...

here's some ingame screenshot for three of em', and one more voxel also found from my old Hard Disk, more update later..

Yuri's tank is brilliant. Heavy tank is good as well, although I wouldn't make barrels remapable.

There's nothing wrong with the remap barrels, imo - even if it was a problem, Its a 10 second job to remove it.

Yuri Tank is cool - do more Yuri stuff, there isn't enough of it. Smile

Chinese Siege Tank? you mean the render from C&C Generals Shockwave Mods...no, it doesn't similar with my "Kodiak", maybe the design almost the same, but i't wasn't inspired from that render...
