I made a model of a soldier, gave him bones and all. He moves pretty much as he should. There are a few quirks that wouldn't mean anything because using him for yuri you won't see them, but I know they are there.

My question is: When anyone has made a 3D model, where the models, calves, thighs, torso, biceps, forearms, hands, neck, and head made all as one. or are each separate joined only by the bones which grab the skin.

I guess I should mentioned my one glitch I have when I was testing my model I turn the head the shoulder pieces of skin turn with it.

It shouldn't matter for turning them into .shp, I animated some models done by lao tze that were in separate parts using bones and they looked fine. The preferred way is to do a single mesh however.

Yeah, I know, but some of you guys are a stickler for detail, not a bad thing, so when I look at my work I try to look at it through your eyes. Thanks for the feed back.

If you want to make someone wearing armor or a cyborg/ robot, separate parts are the best. A single mesh is only good for organic things.

Well, its a soldier made as one poly but I don't like the way the head and shoulders distort when I turn the head. Despite the fact its for turning into a shp, there might be a need for later use for more, so I plan to make certain parts as single pieces.
