Mod releases of the month
Subject description: It's play time!
Hello again! I've decided to try to use the first 20 minutes of the day to post a news at this site, in order to keep it active. I'm sure there will be days that I'll be in a deep rush and I wonm't be able to do it, but fridays are a good day, because I do not have classes (only work), so I do not need to rush so much.
Anyway, in this month, there were a couple of mod releases that we didn't talk about them here. So, here's a quick mention for them. If a miss someone, please, write in the news and I'll update this post.
-> Beowulf's Rules for Yuri's Revenge has received the patch 1.1.2 which fixes several bug fixes, most of them related to the PsiCorps AI.
-> C&C Generals: Situation Zero released their first alpha version on october 12nd. It's a ballance mod for the Zero Hour expansion that also improves the graphics of the game, provides new explosions... and new units as well, such as aircraft for GLA.
And that's the first... and, apparently, the last version of the mod.

-> C&C Stargate Universe is a total conversion for C&C Generals that brings the Stargate universe to the battlefield. It looks interesting. Its trailer says all:
And you can play it for both PC and MAC by downloading the mod at the official site.
-> OpenRA is being updated constantly. For those who aren't aware of this project, this is a game engine that tries to recreate old C&C games, such as Red Alert 1, with new and cooler features (I.e.: using tabs seen in RA2 and newer games). It has received 6 patches only in this month, and they fix a lot of bugs, include new maps, reballance some units and add a couple of new features. Head to the official site of the project to grab the latest version and to the forums at Sleipnir Stuff for more information and interaction with other users and developpers of the engine.
Anyway, I've just noticed that I've spent a bit more than 20 minutes writting this news, but hopefully, I'll reduce the time spent with it in the upcoming days, since there will be less news to post. OpenRa has a problem with balance. No, it is quite balanced - and THAT is the problem. It throws out the good ol' RA1 balance of tanks > everything and tank spam is the best strategy. Sure, I'd like that as an option. But really, I just want to play Red Alert 1 online without all the bullshit to make it work.

Not many RA players there at the moment though, mostly C&C95..
