Tiberian Dawn Redux 1.4 Public Beta released!
Subject description: Tiberian Dawn literally on fire... from a volcano!
So... for those who thought that I'd just post a news about my return and disappear again, surprise! I'm here. The only problem is that I'm only being able to post something before I sleep, because I'm waking up too late and I have to work. Anyway, I'm in debt with a lot of news that happened in these weeks. So, I'll try to pick some of the best of them today. And, in terms of mods, the best news are obviously mod releases and awards. So, I'm getting a bit of both now. Here's the news:

Download it at ModDB. And remember that this project has forums at CnC-Comm Center, so post your feedback there as well, if you enjoy the mod.
-> C&C 3: The Forgotten has been nominated as one of the top 5 best singleplayer mods at ModDB Mod of the Year 2010 by the editors. Congratulations for the Forgotten team, really. ModDB editors hardly have any clue at what does RTS abbreviation means... I mean, they don't play RTS mods... and they only award FPS mods. So, I'm really surprised that they've actually nominated any RTS mod. But this single player category in this year was really an exception (or they were very desesperate, I don't know) because I civilization IV mod has also been nominated. But of course, the winner is never a RTS mod. Afterall, that's ModDB. They'll never understand the amount of work that goes behind a top notch RTS mod when they value more the mods that adds few monsters and weapons to the players. The models in FPS mods are usually more details, since you don't need to place the same amount of units than in a RTS game, but it's certainly much hard to produce a decent RTS mod than most of the great FPS mods.
You may have noticed that I'm exagerating or joking a bit, but those who have seen the older editions of ModDB awards might have noticed that it is really very rare to see a RTS mod being nominated by the editors. While the players usually managed to put two or three RTS at the top ten, editors hardly mention any RTS mod. If the mod is lucky with the editors, it gets an honourable mention. So, the crew from The Forgotten really needs to be congratulated for this achievement. Great job, guys!
The Forgotten has been the first known C&C mod to make a campaign supported with full motion videos and real actors. If you wanna know more about this mod, check the trailer below and the mod site.
And that's it for now. Hopefuly, in our next update we'll start to talk more about what happened here in PPM. Last edited by Banshee on Thu Dec 23, 2010 11:34 am; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
