I finally found a decent model of this. There were no credits in the download file nor at the place I got it from. So I dont know who to credit for the model, but it's not mine. I'm just converting it. So with that out of the way.
Anybody got some idea's for this? How much bigger should I make it than the original one? should I make the flames animated, maybe make a destroy anim, Make lasers shoot from the eye's? any thoughts?

IMO, if you're willing to do all the work...

Do everything.

Idle
Garrison
Destroy
Idle_snow
Garrison_snow
Destroy_snow

Etc etc.

As for size... make the base approximately the same size as the original. Make it big, but make it fit properly.

Alternately, if you're going to do it in 3D and do a 3D->SHP conversion, you can do two versions - one approximately the WW's size, and another somewhat larger.

Hell, if you feel like doing something extra with it... buildup/cameo? xD

Could be used for a Wonder, ala Age of Empires?

Well the image, garrison, damage, and snow frames are automatic. I just wanted to know any other ideas for it. This is for you guys, so what ever the majority wants is what I'll do. I think revealing a half naked liberty is kinda cool, but kinda inappropriate because of the importance and history of this statue. But if you guys are being serious about it, I guess I could make an alternate version for it. Razz

How about making a destroyed version, half buried in the ground ala Planet of the Apes? Actually a desert version with sand instead of snow would be very cool indeed.

Also because of the new Ares debris system it never has to be completely destroyed, so you could leave most of the base and like one leg standing after it's been destroyed.









Actually you've also got to do a Soviet version! Maybe the statue should be holding the Hammer and Sickle instead or have some USSR flags draped across.

Perhaps even a Yuri version?

So my suggestions:
- Ares debris version.
- Snow and desert version.
- Half buried version.
- Communist version.

Also I've no idea how big it really is, but it would be cool, especially with the half buried version, to be much bigger so like just the bust is construction yard sized.

Recoil was gonna have a whole mission for GDI that was to do with Nod using the old burried Status of Liberty as a broadcasting outpost. xD

lol, dont worry guys, there isnt going to be a naked liberty. I was just messin about. It's going to be a normal .shp with all theaters and some extra's like buried liberty and stuff. Thinking about making it capturable and then have an alternate image when captured. Maybe a small sat and have mouth opened up for an entrance. I dont know. We;ll have to see how things pan out.

A pretty good start. I'd maybe turn it to face the camera and have it leaning more to one side. You could also try adding a bit of deep blue reflection around the base to look like it's buried in ice.

BTW as a general tip for this structure I'd reduce the blueness of it, seems really bright.

in this pic I've added the base and rotated it to resemble the same angle/facing as the original in RA2. Also toned down the lighting a little, so it's not so bright. So does this look good to everyone for the main .shp of it?
Also, note to everyone who may use this, it will require a custom palette "which will be included", so NPatch or Ares will be required to use this. I figure everyone by now is using a patch one way or another anyway.

Pretty sure the Statue of Liberty uses a custom palette in RA2 anyway. Also if you look at RA2 lighting it still looks a little bright. I'd try add more contrast, especially to the tower base.
