Subject description: New template coming soon

I removed the test template. It was a test and from some of the pm's I have received it seems that it works. I will be posting a new template up within the week for the 2 lane roads. If you did download it, don't use it any more a new improved template is coming.

I want to try something here. I want to see if this could be a template for people to make their own roads if they like the way I did mine. I have supplied the textures for the test. If the image comes up grey just select by name and apply the texture. All items are grouped so you only have to select 1 item, not every single piece individually.

** Note ** This is for the 2 lane roads. More to come if this works. Also, The ground plane is separate from the road plane. When you use the UVW Mapping it makes it easier to texture in pieces. I wouldn't call this a tutorial more like a cheat sheet on making new roads.

You will need the following:

3D Max 2010 (thats what I made this with, other versions might work. I can't answer that since I don't have them.)
TMP Builder (email me if you don't have it. PPM seems to have technical issue with me pming it.)
Metal Mario's TMP Editor

File included:

3D Max Road Template
5 textures
Png of the rendered image
Png how it should look in TMP Builder or TMP Editor
Terrain tile in URB Format

Open Tmp Builder and load Road Template

Open 3Dmax and load Road Template Beta

After you render the road template in (orthographic lower left section) go to TMP Builder and click on tools and click on Import Template (or Ctrl I). It will load the image. It might pause and show on the program "Not Responding", just give it a second and your image will show up. Need to know if the image shows up correctly. If not, save the tile in TMP Builder.Open TMP Editor and load the file. Next, copy complete. Open your Photo Program and create new, Paste the image and post it.

** Note ** you have to leave the orthographic view alone. You CAN NOT zoom in or out or move side to side. If you do, it will screw up the image. If you do move it by mistake, just reload the piece.

If you are having any issue following these instructions let me know I'll make a video. Not saying people are stupid, just that I some times don't get my point across correctly.

there are 2 pics inside.

Its a template which means you can texture the ground one kind the roads another kind, curbs another, with yellow lines and intersection line. I made it this way so I know my roads meet up perfectly with my intersections and my bend pieces. If it works out perfectly (and the community likes the looks of the roads) then I can post up more of them and it can help someone who wants to create new roads. I know its better to learn on your own, but some times it nice to just have.

Still looking for feed back on if this works for everyone. I will post up some more for people to download, if it works.

If it works I will have:
2 lane roads (already posted)
2 lane road new angles
2 lane new angle bends
4 lane roads
4 lane road new angles
4 lane new angle bends

These will be for people who want to make new looking roads without having to figure out the spacing like I did when I first made mine. I plan to make a video in the coming week to show what you need to do.
