Moddb.com attacked by hackers...Or just down?

Hi, I just went to moddb.com and noticed it's been either attacked by hackers or it crashed. Everything has apparently been deleted and the twitter header says "We fail...", strangely.

What the heck? Is this a legitimate attack against ModDB or is it just down?

They do have backups, don't they? It would be kinda.. bad if they lost everything.

Also, I didn't see the message on Twitter.

Probably just having an issue with database server. These things do happen, you know.

You should know that sometime ago, ModDB was being attacked with a DDOS. This might be their come back, I'm quite worried :/

Ehh, usually a site the size of ModDB gets its shit together pretty quickly, or at least diagnoses the problem.

IndieDB is also down, btw. I think that it's just something internal.. Rather than malevolence, as the old saying goes;
"Incompetence is always more likely than malevolence".

What reason did they DDOS attack the place for? What could they gain from it?

Perhaps it was a test attack?

Anyway, I don't hope this continues, at a certain point backups can be erased as well and then ModDB can start again... from scratch... Sometimes it is fun to see hackers hack something, but it is not funny when it is some thing you are using..

Most hackers are complete losers anyway, especially when trying to break a community project like ModDB. Wouldn't expect anything less though, to be honest.

The Millenium has risen again apparently, seems ModDB staff don't properly check the mods they approve.
