God knows how many times this may have been asked before, but I can't seem to find anything on it. I'm aware of the dropship and Orca Transports being buggy when used, I'm just curious if there is another way of making a flying 'APC'. The Dropship works well enough until it lands, full. Then it drops each occupant out, one by one. The transport just doesnt even work, lol. Is there a way to code it so it can land and then unload on one click?

Also, what tag allows units to hover? I've been trying forever to get the MLRS to stop hovering. lol

Any and all advice is appreciated. Very Happy

No. Dropships and Orca Transports are well known for being buggy and impossible to perfect in TS. Vehicle Loading onto other Vehicles isn't possible altogether as Transports do not work in TS and the best (In my opinion) way to get a decently working Orca Transport is to add Carryall=yes to it's code. There are a few other work-arounds, but they all have their own flaws.

These tags are the ones you want to look at for your hover problem:

Code:
Locomotor={4A582742-9839-11d1-B709-00A024DDAFD1}
SpeedType=Hover
MovementZone=AmphibiousDestroyer


Copy and paste a locomotor from another ground vehicle and change the SpeedType and MovementZone to your liking.

Ah, so sad. I figured it wasn't really possible. Oh well, I'll keep experimenting. Wink

Guys! This bug comes up with the patch. I'm playing in v.1.08 TS and Dropship and Orcatransport are generally works normal. But if install patch - logic broken in result. Reading readme of the patch i assume that it comes with the 1.16. There is bugfix for the fly units. If we could hack patch and ripp-off this bug-fix it could solve our problems. And for the end i have a question. How to enable construct of Dropship Bay?? In rules.ini i remove ";" comments and set the owner, cost, etc... but DB doesn't reveal at all...

It isn't nearly that easy as it seems to reverse the patch for this special case only. This has also been suggested in Hypers Suggestions and Bugs topic.

The dropship bay has iirc only an image for snow theater. Thus it's invisible on temperate maps.
You have to extract the SHPs and rename them so they have the prefix "gt". (e.g. gadrop.shp -> gtdrop.shp)
Then add them to an ecache02.mix so the game can find them.

The newbie guide in modding might also help you further.

Its the other way about it has temperate and needs snow (i remember making snow frame's for TS:BoB and i checked Wink)

So

Creating for snow map it is done, but i'm about other thing. Dropship Bay isn't show even in sidebar with buildings, but anyway, i was cloned this building from helipad with DSB shp for Temperate and Snow maps. Also activated old GDI Radar.
