I've recently been having some serious troubles trying to get my mod to work properly. When my mod is in C:\Westwood\SUN, it will work and play perfectly fine however when I changed directory to something like C:\Westwood\Tiberian Odyssey and try to run the game I'll get an IE on the load screen (see attatched). In one directory the mod can run great but in another it will IE 100% of the time on the loadscreen which makes me wonder why it's so interested in being in the SUN directory. The first time I renamed the Tiberian Odyssey folder (one that IE'S) to the name SUN, upon starting the game it said "One or more dll files are missing or damaged" and when I tried to play again it loaded perfectly and played perfectly.

I sent the mod to a few members who both report immediate IE's on the loadscreen. I can't see what's wrong, in one aspect the files and mod are fine and on the other they fail miserably. I thought it was related purely to my machine but when other people had IE's too there's a file issue.

when you start your game, do you start it from a short cut on the desk top? If you do, you need to edit it to look for the new directory.

I'm one of the members he sent it to, and I was launching from the directory.
Unfortunately, it seems not to be anything as easy as you're suggestion Cranium, though I wish it were.

Heh I had this same crap long ago. It's the windows compatibility mode. You have made game.exe use the compatibility mode in C:\Westwood\SUN, but not in the new directory.

Tried several exe's this is turning more towards mix corruption, I tried rebuilding my mix files but they were complete copy and pasted files and I still got the IE. I rebuilt them again making sure I didn't copy the previous mix files local mix database files and once I had rebuilt them all again it seems to work in whatever directory it is named, though I still get the one or more dll files are missing bug.

Im going to say this is a Blowfish.dll error, the "One or more dll files are missing or damaged" message is only displayed when Blowfish.dll is not found, the message is miss-leading.

Ill take a look when i get home.
