The easier way to create rain effect by firing a weapon.You don't need to play any animations.

Also you can make that rain into a deadly weapon.

I downloaded this to check it out, but when I went to open with shp builder it says it can't open it.

I know from previous posts and personal viewings of rain in various games, rain can cause lag. I don't recall off hand, but I remember someone working on rain with good results.

Though if this rain works it doesn't look to bad, nice job

translucency and transparency are a big-time lag cause, iirc.

o ,that shp?not important.Build a one-pixel and name it ACIDRAIN.
This is to allow loop count.
Build a DUMMYINF13 SHP to create snow and other effects.If translucent rain causes lag,snowflaks without translucency works better.

Add in RA2MD.ini

VideoBackBuffer=no
AllowVRAMSidebar=no

this can make your game bahave better.


Someone else's method is an animation played.But I don't have that animation.

At least you can use the acid rain weapon,that's no lag at all.XD

Kenosis, as nice debris tricks are, you ever try firing on water... Razz or directly aim debris on a building that blocks it and then won't spread it out.

Ha,that's different from old debris tricks.
Even firing it at buildings or into water doesn't make the rain effect disappear.However you will see rain drop in water and the splash.Because the debris are spread out in a totally different way.

According to my test,only if more than 10 nornal rain weapon fired,lag happens.And it is quite hard to cause lag using acid rain.

Suggested to create a particial rain.
However I didn't write all parameters.One guy in our community requested for the feature and I just gave him the acid rain,taught him how to adjust the effect.If you don't like the effect,change it yourself.

And don't forget to credit me if you use it!
