everything is built on darn source code _________________ Tiberian Sun Hidden Shadows Mod Leader and Overlord of PPM. Bow down and repent to your master. And go bake me some cookies!
westwood or ea should release the source code since the games arent really selling much and it would greatly help the modders. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

EA doesn't care about modders. They just care about releasing more games so they can make more money.
I guess it has never hurt to ask a former westwood employee, but I doubt they still have it. _________________ Tiberian Station

But every Quake game has had the source code released and they were just as popular. I would have thought that at least the TD/RA engine would be out by now. _________________

with games like quake 3 for example u only get the dll code, not the exe.
Companys should never release the source of the exe for the safty of all the players, if hackers get the source code then say bye to honest play.
Also when source code is released, companys have to spand man hours(and money) into preparing the source code for distribuation, cleaning it, maybe making some documents, etc. _________________ Free Map Editor - Game Requirements - Stucuk.Net QUICK_EDIT
if they released source code there would be hundreds of copycat games sprining up everywhere with same graphics and same engine and EA would lose the thing they value the most.....(figure it out for yourself) _________________ That acting was so bad I think you gave me Cancer...

I wish they had at least released the beta, I'm sure more things would have been possible. My reasoning is that in the unpatched version of TS, there were things you could do that you can't do in v 2.03. In earlier TS, when you think of it in a slanted way, is kinda like an unpatched TS, so possibly more things would be possible. _________________ Tiberian Station

if they released the source code, imagine how easy it would be for hackers, thats why half life 2 is so delayed _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT

Posted Above.
And HL2 is delayed because of Steam, HL2 requires Steam, Steam is not compleatly working or WON would b dead(HL Side). U can't blame Hackers for Valve making a shit program called steam, which is very buggy. _________________ Free Map Editor - Game Requirements - Stucuk.Net QUICK_EDIT
no its not steam, i saw the fileplanet interview, they were being too aggressive in their release date, they want to really fine tune the game, and the source code was stolen and they had to modify it so hackers wouldnt have a party. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. I know they had to modify the source, but Steam is the Car of HL, without the Car the Man can't get to work. Without a working steam, No HL2. Won is still up and running months after the switch. It doesn't take this long to modify net code. Steam is the problem with the release. _________________ Free Map Editor - Game Requirements - Stucuk.Net QUICK_EDIT
no, because any half life game works without steam. 100%. i even have a second installation of half life, opposing force, and blue shift (all steam free) for mods that dont like steam. all steam is is an online gameplay organiser and auto updater, any game will work without it. _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. just spam them with emails saying
* give source code for CnC TS fools*
thatl get results or a virus that makes
* you will give us the source codesfor TS * apear on the screen for about 2 weeks then stops
or send an elite strike force into EA HQ and break into the computer core dodging the lasers and robots that protect it and hack into it to retreive the codes escaping with only one man still alive
*voulenters for the last one would be aperciated* _________________ QUICK_EDIT

No, HL works without steam since it was made without it, HL2 was made with steam, it can't run without it, it is intergrated. HL isn't being released to the public, its been out since 1998, HL2 is.
