If you're looking to create an Ion Storm bolt then it can and can't be done. The ones you see ingame during an IonStorm are generated randomly by the game itself and can't be made to appear via a weapon or warhead, you can use map triggers to make single bolts strike specific waypoints. Other mods have recreated Ion Storm bolts via making a shp of lightning bolts (some are cut out of screenshots of Ion Storms) and placed it in Warhead animation lists. I believe some of the older style mods do this so maybe look their way for ideas. _________________ QUICK_EDIT

btw, don't you guys find odd that some things are only available via map triggers/scenes and not by "invoke" with some weap/anim (like meteor strike) ? _________________
no, because if i would have the full control over the source code like WW, i would also hook several things right into the engine, instead of adding extra routines to read, check and use the ini values.
And taking a screenshot of a lightning bolt and turning it into an SHP, is a pretty good workaround, though i would make completely new ones with higher detail as the engine rendered ones aren't that pretty actually.
