Subject description: Criticism Please!

When Orca Aerospace Engineerings patent on the ducted fan jet (DFJ) technology ran out, Mantis Defence Systems immediatly came out with the LSA (Light Support Aircraft). MDS claims it has the Manouverability of the Orca Fighter, the passenger space of the orca transport and the lifting power of the carryall all in one Aircraft. MDS says that these will not be able to be bought but can be hired and they will be flown by MDS pilots. Also each LSA will come with an elite MDS guard so any situation in combat or not, you will be covered. MDS will know doubt be coming out with more aircraft using the newly unpatented DFJ tech, already there have been sightings of a massive hovering aircraft inside the MDS compound in iceland but these have not been confirmed. An interview with the MDS joint CEO's Andrew Manson and Jacob Tiswell will be published soon.

Shows the LSA's high altitude capabilities.

All LSA's come with a well trained Mantis Guard.

The LSA is as manouverable as the orca fighter.

I hope you have enjoyed reading this!

I would love to hear some constructive criticism, the design of the LSA is completely open to change.

The design is ok, the texture on the other hand needs alot of work as its too messy and distorts the detail and he shape of the craft. Probably best to make the cockpit enclosed as well.

The voxel can be larger so you can add more details to it and size it down using voxelbounds in the HVA editor. As for texturing, VXLSE III has a texture tool that converts your voxel into a bitmap layout for you to edit using GIMP or Photoshop.

better, but green looks weird for the cockpit windows... Try very dark blue/grey.

Also, ingames.

Run autonormals and see the results.

Basically, normals give each pixel a value. They're like this, in TS:
Top (32),
Bottom (2, iirc),
Left side,
Right side,
Back,
Front,
Top-Left side corner,
Top-Right side corner,
etc.

By giving your voxel normals it will be lit by the game's lighting rather than appearing black ingame. The general rule is that you need normals on EVERYTHING. Not just shiny surfaces.

Hand painting normals gives the best results, but is also very time consuming on voxels which are not a simple shape.

EDIT: This diagram shows the TS scheme:

Thankyou very much for the info i see how it works now Smile i will give it a go and post results soon.
EDIT: Right the normalised (is that the word for adding normals?) LSA

Here it is evacuating a gdi base. It was hired because GDI's transport service is spread thin across the world.

Anything more it gets better every time Laughing
