Not sure if this belongs to the media hut, but couldn't think of a better place. What with Duke Nukem Forever finally arriving, I decided to try and put mr. Nukem into TS as a joke. The package contains all the code, graphics and sounds, just extract expand09.MIX to the TS folder. Could cause problems if other mods are present, so it's best to play it on unmodded TS.




Duke is armed with Ripper Chaingun (against infantry) and RPG (against everything else). When he is promoted to elite he swaps the RPG to the Devastator. He also has a jetpack and ALOT of hp.

Duke is actually so awesome that instead of being damaged by tiberium he heals on it. I was also thinking of making babe units that can "heal" him. Would be cool to see Duke running around with a group of women keeping his health up Laughing

1600 hp and light armor. A large group can overpower you, so you have to keep moving and in emergencies escape with the jetpack. Taking down bases is fun, can't simply walk over them you have to keep targeting power plants and plan your way in. I just managed to wipe out 3 level 2 AIs with just one Duke though Cool

While I like the idea, I'm not sure if the current owner of the Duke Nukem franchise likes it. From what I heard, they are a bit like Blizzard when it comes to using stuff from their franchise in other media. A friend of mine was denied a custom-made T-Shirt with the Duke Nukem logo and a quote of the Duke because of this Confused

Your friend was making money off the t-shirt... What company would go for that? This is for a old ass game nobody buys anymore for the most part... Who is going to care? Its nothing like Halogen. Infact, if Halogen would be worked on again, odds are no trouble would be seen. Its always safe to assume if you are using a dated game that brings no competition to their recources that you wont even get an eyebrow raised.

Old ass game... Duke Nukem Forever is coming out next month #Tongue
Anyways, it was only my experience. I'm not saying it was a bad move. Hell, I even have a unit in my mod that is called 'Duke' and will have a Duke Nukem-like voice (if I can make that), and other references to the man #Tongue

One thing I forgot to mention is that you have to temporarily rename patch.mix to something else or delete it, otherwise the rules.ini in there will override the expand09.mix one.

Think this guy would make for a very nice Nod elite soldier. After a quick search I couldn't find the sprites though, would need to extract them from the game (Crusader: No Remorse / No Regret).
