I was told by a member to post somewhere and wait until someone who uses Blender responds. So I came here and posted because Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge is more exciting to mod...(kinda mod). I am looking for someone who has both the time and patience who also uses Blender to create 3-D models for Red Alert 2 and Yuri's Revenge. The reason why I will remain using Blender is because I found a disappointing discovery. 3-D max is VERY expensive, and when I mean expensive, I mean in the 1000 range expensive.

I hope someone who uses Blender could help me, if not, I could get some pointers from people who are familiar with Blender.

As with anything else, you're going to have to practise yourself. If you're serious about learning Blender, then there are a lot of tutorials to be found - starting at blender.org and working from there.
Blender functions very similarly to any other 3D program in many ways, so much of it transfers from one to another.

I gave a suggestion of watching a video from traptcg that deals with 3d Studio max. I mean they are kinda....kinda.... the same. Is that a good suggestion?

^^No, I've tried that 5 years ago when I had sketch up, which didn't belong to google that time.

@GeneralAnthrax101:
The number of blender users here is countable on one hand, videos are your way, take orac's advice.

@ GeneralAnthrax101: Let me download Blender and see. I am talking about to understand the process in which it takes to edit things not that it works the same.

I saw the videos and was familiar with the Hot keys. Well I haven't watched all the videos but I will soon today. Also Nik, if you could give me tips once you get Blender, that would be cool.

I watched the Essential videos also.

All I can tell you, is the same thing I tell everyone else new to Blender. Get the Blender 3D: Noob to Pro book. You can get it here

While we're on the subject of starting out with Blender for the purposes of modding, does anyone have a decent template for rendering to TS/RA2 perspective? I've been looking for one for Blender for a fair while now...
(Sorry to derail the topic a little)

That was what I was thinking about, a few tools look simple enough to make a Tesla Coil, and I want to see that through, but how do I put texture's on it? Terms speaking, Red Alert 2 type of textures.

cgtextures would be a good choice for textures, and GIMP/Photoshop can be used to manipulate them to be closer to RA2 in colour.
