Questions... Sort of Related to Modding
Just a disclaimer: These questions might seem not to belong here, but I'm actually modding RA2YR to your answers, and Google is being a b1tch and doesn't want to help; bear with me please, any response or guess is appreciated.
All currencies and weaponry I ask should be around the time of ~1970s.
1. What is the chance of a single bullet hit anywhere on a body, without armor, to kill? A questionable answer I got was ~30%, but not sure.
2. What is the price of an HK VP70? I'm only guessing $25USD in ~1970s, but again, not sure.
3. What is the price of an M60? Closest indirect answer I got was ~$200.
4. How does going prone reduce your body's surface area? Considering that the perspective is from the ground 10 meters away.
5. Related to question 1, how does wearing a ballistic vest reduce the chance of a fatal shot? Prefered vest would be the M-1951.
6. How well do bullets do to actual tanks? How about the half-track? Or structures?
7. Is there anyway I could have AnimList only play when hit? Like if the projectile had Inaccurate or FlakScatter? Maybe a workaround?
8. What was the cost of training an U.S Army Combat Engineer?
That's all I've got so far, will update as I encounter more problems. Last edited by 001010011100101110 on Fri Aug 05, 2011 4:35 am; edited 3 times in total QUICK_EDIT
1) Depends on the hit location. Head is nearly 100 percent fatal; chest would be close to 70 or 75; any major artery in the leg would be fairly high, around 50 to 60 I would guess; limb shots wouldn't be fatal immediately, but in a war, blood loss and infection would play a big role.
2) Anywhere between $300 and $600.
3) An M60 would have been around $20K in the 70s.
4) Nothing specific on it, but using common sense, it makes you a smaller target and a bit harder to hit. Also, it makes your cover more effective, especially in wooded areas.
5) If you're using AP rounds, a vest won't do shit. Even today's best vests can only stop handgun rounds. They can't stop SMG or MG rounds. _________________ KGR | AT

Anyways, I do agree with you on the first and fifth ones, I think the sources I used dealt with civilian arms such as handguns, not military submachine guns and heavy machine guns. QUICK_EDIT
