What have I done that makes my SSV (Sky Scraper Vehicle) teleport around map like chrono unit!? To make it clear , it's not moving like any vehicle( apocalypse for ex.)! I cloned the code from I.F.V. and modified it a lot! Please check the codes Smile
Here's my code for SSV:

Quote:
[SSV]
UIName=Name:SSV
Name=SSV
Prerequisite=GAWEAP
Primary=RedEye
Strength=2000
Category=Transport
Armor=light
TechLevel=10
Sight=12
Speed=7
CrateGoodie=no
Owner=French,Alliance
RequiredHouses=French,Alliance
AllowedToStartInMultiplayer=no
Cost=3000
Points=20
ROT=5
Crusher=no
TooBigToFitUnderBridge=true
Turret=yes
Gunner=yes
AirRangeBonus=4

I made it to expressly scrape the sky (any plane or kirov will fall !)
here's the pic of how it's moving![/quote]

Not trying to start anything, but man! you new modders are getting lazier and lazier. Just keep modifying your code until you come across something that works. Is it really that hard for you guys to take the inititive to do things yourselves?

@Cranium: It would have been easier to just help him as opposed to posting only to yell at people. He obviously took the initiative by starting with the FV copy.

@iamn00b: Thanks, and you're right. A lack of locomotor setting will result in a Chrono-shift vehicle.

@abdragon95: The IFV is not always the best unit to take as an example unit, due to the special logic involved with the [FV]. It would be best to copy something like the Flak Track and modify it with your weapons and other tags from units, like you're looking for with the AirRangeBonus.

like I said, I wasnt trying to start anything. I'm just trying to incourage these guys to do more thorough work. And if he did clone the FV code, he's missing like half of it. Confused

It looks like he did clone it, and said he changed a lot. I'm not attempting an argument either Cranium but you're being pretty rude towards someone new. If you have nothing nice to say or anything useful towards solving his problem, then you shouldn't be in this thread. This community needs more positive-toned help for newbies, to keep people around to enjoy what we already do.

@Abdragon95: Sorry for going off-topic in your thread.

I'm all for helping the new guys, you should know that. Infact I go out of my way more so than others. And I was not being rude, being rude is telling the guy he's a ztyping noob and to go ztype himself. Trying to incourage someone to do a more thorough job before posting is not rude. I'm just saying, they need to do more for themselves. Slow down, take a few more minutes. not just run here after the first try of what they are doing failed. Open back up the rules, think, hmm, I removed this, this, and this. So maybe if I put back this,this, and this maybe it will work.

And Cranium is right, I'm simply tired of helping people that can't play around (i.e. MOD) and discover crap for themselves. People who can't help themselves infact.

This is a prime example. And it happens more and more as you people just hand out info to the inadequate.

Is it just us? Do we expect something too difficult to expect from the average person? Maybe I should just check it off as the next generation being stupider and lazier.

This is why some of us are against spoon feeding modding, what will you learn if the very first problem has you crying in forum, plz help than try figure it out yourself and when you are given direct help, you don't have to figure it out yourself and you can just bypass the learning process how things work since actually doing it the hard way makes you understand how game engine features work and in long run, adapt to your wantings and thats where innovation comes from as original entries give all the basics needed, all he had to do is copy code of any standard unit not IFV and alter, instead he copied few bits and left tons out, luckily game tolerates a lot despite its IEs in coding.
