The fact that you think MW2 had best MP just makes your credibility die hard. Of all MP games for PC? No MW2. No.
Loads better than the Black Oops like you fawn over. :l BO doesn't actually get fun, so I've been told from the people that insist it is actually fun at some point, until about level 20 where you get your hands on guns that don't actually suck, which means grinding hardcore. If I wanted to grind I'd get a WoW account. Spending more time dead than alive =! fun. IMO at least. That said, I think you're a hypocrite given awhile ago you were actually telling me we should play CS1.6 at some point. :l
MW2 is fun when you find a decent server without a hacker, which are fairly rare on AlterIWnet. AlterIWNet adds the server browser back from MW1, making it so you can actually find a decent server, rather than telling MW2 "lol find me a server on X gamemode" and waiting 20+ minutes for the game to tell you "oh, wait, sorry, everybody LEFT this server", or "lol, sorry, the host is on the other side of the world, enjoy the epic lag".
Like I've said before, it takes MW1's basic gameplay, removes some of the cooler looking guns (M14/G3/M1911), adds more guns, attachments, killstreaks, death streaks (so now shittier players actually have more of a chance*) and rebalances most stuff. Also, gives the AK a M4 stock and PICATINNY RAILS EVERYWHERE. Not too bad overall, besides the Spectre (gunship) and PAVE LOW killstreaks, both of which can easily be countered by a ninja class with Stinger missiles. Also every once in a while you get an aimbotter with a nuke killstreak, which blows, but it's not too often and it's usually over fast.
* I realize this entire posts suggests I'm a shitty player. This may be true. Adding to the shitty/nooby playerness - I love using Martyr (drop live frag upon death) and Last Stand (get hit with non headshot/explosive damage, fall down to ground and pull out your sidearm).

If you're into WWII games, Day of Defeat: Source is pretty good. It's old enough that most of the casual players have left, but it's still got a pretty good fanbase with plenty of good servers and friendly players, as long as you're not a dick that ignores rules.
Team Fortress 2 is free2play now (100% legally free), so if you're looking for some well done cartoony TDM gameplay, look up TF2.
Team Fortress Classic is the precursor to TF2, a remake of a Quake mod for Half-Life 1, if your comp isn't up to handling TF2 (and it's massive amount of hats). Not free though, sorry mate.
L4D/2 are pretty good if you like killing zombies, though the majority of people play Versus mode (team A plays as survivors, going through a campaign. Team B plays the special zombies, then it switches whenever one team wins for each level.) Might be your thing, not sure.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 is apparently pretty fun, though I've never played it (nor do I intend to; the incorrectly mirrored guns just makes me go eurgh). It's class based gameplay like TF2, but with a more "serious" spin to it. _________________ "Banned" RP here QUICK_EDIT

BFBC2 has some real amazing multiplayer. It's my all-time favorite game, or at least until I find a new one (which I can already see being BF3).
