Hello!

I am new here and noob in english language such as in modding. So please excuse my gramar and my poor graphic creations.

I must say, that PPM is the page I was looking for a long time. Its really nice, that so much people are interesting in TS for so long time. I have read some topics here and realised to create own unit. It was my dream for a long time, but I wasnt able to do it until now. So thanks guys for many usefull things posted on PPM. If a noob such as I can do it, it can do anybody.

Here is my very first vxl for Tiberian Sun. I called it Plasma Tank. The main idea is, that this vehicle should by something as infantry destoryer, so one shot, one kill. For that reasson I give to it a proton cannon effective agains infantry, but average to buildings and light vehicles and poor agains heavy armored vehicles.

So, here is it.

Cute, reminds me of the plasma rifle from Fallout.

Welcome aboard yquinox.

For your first voxel this is already really good.
Good details, good normals, only the texture could be a tad better and improved with some anti-aliasing so it reduces the pixelated look (though the pixelated look isn't such a big problem). e.g. Try to avoid 1 voxel wide details and make them 3 voxel wide where the outer voxel have a color between the middle one and the surrounding texture.

Also add some artificial shadows (e.g. darken the colors under the barrel) to enhance the contrast between different parts.
For my taste are the wheels also too bright.

The proportions are also a bit strange imo. The tracks and gun look a bit big compared to the chassis.

TBH this one is better than my very first voxel in TS back in old days...

for now it looks somewhat cartoonish, maybe because the coloration method you're using, do as LKO says and you'll be fine Smile

also Welcome to the community... Wink

Thanks for inviting. And also for some constructive criticism.

I made some changes, but Iam still not happy how it looks like. It is a litle bit dark ingame. This tiny vxl models are realy not friendly to create small details. Or I cant make it yet.

I have reduced the size of tracks by 2 vxls on each side, lower the turret by 2 vxls and shorted the gun. And I also tried to do some anti-aliasing.

Autonormals -> select Cubed Normals -> check Smooth -> set Smooth to 15 and Contrast to 5 -> apply.
