Thinking About Doing 3D Again...
I dabbled in 3d a few years ago. I'm thinking about making Tiberian Sun animated short films. I guess modeling a Nod base and some GDI units who have to assault the base. Honestly the amount of effort into it terrifies me. The closest I ever got to this was make a Hover MLRS with particle effects for its jets and having it move around like a hover board looking around with its turret.
Basically it was a super up model of this that I made but I deleted it:
I have some questions. Do you guys think it's a stupid idea? It kind of remind me of those people who make fan made Star Trek ship battles on YouTube. Do you think I should work on a smaller project or what? I'm really scared about wasting my time trying this.
I think it would be best to make similar units and buildings rather than a direct copy so that I can own the rights to it? QUICK_EDIT
That's actually a fairly good, if low poly, model.
I'd try to tailor the project to a sliding sort of deadline, where you can call it done whenever you feel like. If you're going for a Nod base assault then my suggestion is that the next thing you do is model the Nod base, so that you have something for the HMLRS to shoot at, and go from there adding extra details, more units, and whatever. That way you can effectively make it either a small project or your magnum opus. QUICK_EDIT
