ra2.mix > local.mix > audio.mix
ra2md.mix > localmd.mix > audiomd.mix

Sound effects aren't inside any MIX file. You'll find the those inside audio.bag (which along with the required audio.idx file is located inside above mentioned audio.mix/audiomd.mix) using XCC Sound Editor (which is available in XCC Mixer) to browse the contents of the .bag file.

As for the button click sound, I don't remember the exact filename right now but I think you could find it by looking at sound(md).ini and searching for [MenuClick] and looking for filenames listed in Sounds= list under the said entry.

As a forewarning of sorts, XCC Sound Editor is unable to properly export stereo channel sounds (anything that has either '7' or '13' in 'Flags' column of the Sound Editor) from .bag, they're cut in half.

Thanks for the quick replies. Looks like I was looking in the correct place to start with then. I've just never had any experience with audio.bag

The audio.mix file is in the language.mix not local..btw.
