Age Difference
Just wanted to hear some opinions on a recent occurance. I'm not going to go too deeply into detail because this isn't the place but for obvious reasons, I'm keeping this off Facebook and other social sites.
Would you say there is a problem with a soon-to-be 20 year old guy "dating" a 35 year old woman? Personally I don't think there is any problem being as I'm not a minor, though I accidentally let it slip while talking with my family and needless to say, I got the 101 questions thrown at me followed by a lot of aggression.
I just don't think it's that big of a deal, yeah, age difference can be important, but only if one of the people involved is below 18 in my opinion. QUICK_EDIT
To be fair, I was in a similar position so I don't really care that much. And, in my current situation, my girlfriend is actually younger than I am so age difference isn't a factor unless we start riding that line of underage. Then... yeah... that's something else, but even that has nuance to it. Chiefly, just how far apart is the difference. _________________ KGR | AT

To be very honest with you, there is absolutely no problem on a soon-to-be 20 year old guy "date" a 35 year old woman. Both are old enough to take the best decisions for their lives. QUICK_EDIT
You guys know me, I don't care what people think of me or what I do, but I just dislike the thought of my family (my Mom mostly) turning it into something ridiculous. A similar thing happened to my brother when he started seeing a 30 year old woman, he was practically disowned.

If it were just the age difference being the only factor, I'd say there's no problem. However it's never just a matter of age difference.
A relationship like that has a 95% chance of involving a cougar, and is not recommended. Of cougar relationships, there's another high chance of a problematic relationship.

Stupidities like "MILF" aside, I would assume early 20's to be the time where the age gap of acceptable partners grows drastically. However, it seem to depend on individual basis, so you are the one to choose when this happens. All things consider, this is when relationships become something that depends completely on those in it, thus ultimately, it is their choice (rather than the earlier relationships that are based mainly on certain norms). Or so I can assume. Really, the decision is to be made by partners, not anyone else. Their lives, after all, are their (a redundant statement, but one of great truth). _________________ DUNK! For Fuklaw's sake, why is ArvinCool still around? You never had the talent to make a joke at the right time and the right place, so why bother at all?
As for the topic, when did this happen? I guess you've gotten over Jodie (wasn't that her name?). This certainly makes me and my girlfriend's age difference look petty (she's three and a half years older, FYI), but if the affection is mutual, then I have nothing against you two. I feel sorry for you if your family can't seem to swallow it.
Oh, and just for the record, our newly-elected president is 29 years older than his wife, and they seem to be coming along just fine. _________________ QUICK_EDIT
Well this started no more than two weeks ago so it's only recent (not actually in a relationship, but we'd both like it), the Jodie problem however has a lot of potential to clash drastically with this in our social circle, but that's another story for another day. I just decided that I need to get my act back together and stop wallowing in a mess I didn't deserve to be in, it's hard to say if I'm over what happened or not but one of the best ways to move on in life is to find someone else that makes you happy. If mom tries push it too much, well you can always move to your new gf in ideal case, which it may or not be here.

The way I see it is, if 2 people like each other then age should'nt matter "just as long as it's not an adult fooling around with a minor". Some may not like or approve of the idea. But it's really not thier business to intervene. It's your choice! whether people like it or not. Just make sure it's what you want. I say go for it Aro. If anything it could be a great learning experience. _________________
