So I've been working on a mod, as we all have, but I've run into a wall. I probably already know the answer to this, but I have to ask anyway. Is there any way to make a building only buildable on a certain piece of terrain, for example Veins?

To specify an individual building to its own type of terrain, na it's not possible.

Ok. I still believe its possible, but at the moment, I think I can sacrifice the water terrain for it; It has some cool functions I could utilize for the new terrain. Though I've never really messed with terrain pieces, so how does one change the water terrain pieces, mountains w/ water, etc. to say... railroad or something of the like? And vice versa, with the new pieces to [Water]?

Each terrain tile has a number attached to it which tells it what terrain type to use. To change it you'll have to open every relevant terrain file (in TMP Studio or XCC terrain editor) & change the numbers around.

PS: Units are hardcoded to use specific pathfinding logic for water-land, so I wouldn't be surprised if your units would get stuck or take long routes etc.

I could say how to achieve this right now but why spoil all fun #Tongue. A hint though: WaterBound=yes can be made to work on other terrain types than [Water].

I know water is buggy movement wise, but for the most part players are going to want to utilize as much of the land for buildings as they can, so movement won't be such a problem until you get into a long, long game.
Good to know though Mig, thanks.

I don't see a way to do that in the rules Starkku, but do give a better explanation? What I'm really looking for is say, making WaterBound attached to an ore that you can build on AND be able to destroy.
