---Revenant structure update---
Thunder Cannon

Description:
In essence an artillery piece fixed into a turret, the 300mm cannon of the Thunder Cannon can punch trough any ground target with a blast that lives up to its name. Based upon the technology used for the RAHES of a Raden, it uses a combination of a rocket-assisted shell, an advanced armor-piercing warhead, and an massive high-explosive warhead. The combined effect can be called ‘impressive’ at least; vehicles that survive the shell are blown away, and infantry stand no chance at all.
The upsides of using an artillery piece (besides the massive shell) is the increased range. While not able to outrange mobile artillery systems, it can fire further than almost any other defensive structure on the battlefield. The downsides are that it has a minimum range, and it has a long reload time. Also, if enemies are able to move into a base guarded by Thunder Cannons, the results may be just as bad for the enemy as for the base because of the large splash damage of the shells.
The combination of the technologies required means a Nerve Center must be available, and also requires special clearance to be constructed.

Note: model and texture may change at any point during development.

Non-official comment: as Revenant are a bit of turtlers, I thought an artillery piece as base defence would fit them. If you know me a bit, you might recognize the looks of the barrel #Tongue

Eh, I'd always expect ground-based non-mobile artillery system to easily outrange mobile artillery. But I guess it's for balance purposes.

It looks more like a straight-shooting cannon than a 'real' artillery.

It's supposed to be an artillery firing at 0-5 degrees angle from horizontal. It sacrifices range for hitting an target almost instantly. And yes, an artillery defence that outranges mobile artillery is just nasty. Even the RA2 Grand Cannon didn't outrange all artillery units #Tongue
