Привет! OmegaBolt has released Red-Resurrection Beta 1.0 about two weeks ago. Here's his words on this mod:

Welcome commander to the first release of Yuri's Revenge Red-Resurrection, the YR addon bringing you a reimagined Allied and Soviet factions once again at war with almost entirely new arsenals of weapons. Red-Resurrection makes best use of the Ares enhancement (required version included in the download) including many new gameplay mechanics, graphical enhancements and stability improvements providing an overall smoother game.

Before downloading you should check out the ModDB profile including picture gallery. The downloads are also posted for the mod itself and the theme pack (includes 7 selected Frank Klepacki tracks from none C&C games). Please note the mod also supports the Red Alert 2 soundtrack, which can be enabled by copying theme.mix from either the Allied or Soviet disc into your YR directory and renamed to ecachera2theme.mix

About the Mod
Red-Resurrection began in September 2010 as a simple YR addon with some new units and an old-school attitude to modding however it quite quickly grew into a larger yet subtler edit including the replacement of most units coding and graphics. For instance the entire weapons and warheads code has been recreated from scratch on a per unit basis; everything has been considered and balance between factions very deliberately established. The graphics of the mod are sourced from the community, all freely available to use albeit edited by myself for continuity.

Simply put Red-Resurrection is a light hearted, fun expansion modification for Yuri's Revenge following in the games footsteps with some goofy units, unrealistic game world and overall jolly colourful demeanour. If you are looking for fast paced explosive gameplay set in an apocalyptic wasteland dominated by sadistic super-computers and corrupt insidious inter-continental empires then this is probably not the mod for you. It is simple- there are two factions, the blue Allies fighting for justice, liberty and a free market and the red Soviet Union forging an evil scheme to bring down capitalism forever in a horde of conscripted infantry, tank battalions and nuclear warheads.

What Does Beta Mean?
Yes, as you noticed this is a multiplayer beta. Beta means the mod is essentially incomplete, with some minor details missing or unfinished such as unit voices. Since last october I have been in education and no longer have time to develop the mod continually, so I am now releasing it for you all to play, discover incomplete features and balance mistakes and report them to me. When I have time I will definately continue development, expanding the mod with new features including a full campaign for both factions.

Beta means there will be mistakes, some minor missing features etc but I personally believe the mod to be very stable and playable otherwise I would not have released it. Furthermore the Ares version required by the mod is also in beta phase. Note that Ares does not alter your Yuri's Revenge game in any way.

The game keeps crashing sometimes while it does the following (from debug.log):

I'll try to reproduce your issue here. 11.352.935 is a really old version which I lost the pdb for I think.

You could go and try to reproduce it with latest Fatman (since 11.352.935 was also a Fatman) and file a bug on Ares tracker for it.

Could you give me a quick explanation how to replace the Ares binaries? Sorry I'm not familiar with Ares. I'm on the #cncnet IRC channel btw if you want to IM me.

Didn't notice, I was playing Russian Roulette with 8 players, all 'Apocalyptic AI'. I've had this crash happen twice on me, the debug.log file always shows that Weapons Factory bib clearing line.

btw I really liked plsying the mod so far, definitely a huge improvement over Red Alert 2 and also YR (because there's no Yuri side).

Managed to this yesterday, got a weird crash that didn't generate any crashdumps but afterwards it was fine (just played for a 5 hours).

I really like the mod but I feel it could have more, are there more features planned?

Sorry about these errors, not sure why they're happening. It's good you're enjoying it so much though! Yes more features are planned etc but since I've got very little free time I'm not sure when I can work on them.

Any details on what you're planning to add? I feel every side is missing one infantry and one tank unit, and I also feel that the countries could be diversified more (or maybe add new ones). I'm more of a Shockwave player these days so maybe that's why ;p

Played a few games & noticed;

Missing voices on several units.
The ore drills foundation is the wrong way round.
The Allied repair/transport unit isn't very good at automatically fixing your units!
AOE weapons keep killing my own units >.>

Other then that fun was had #Tongue loved the intro BTW.

Unfortunately not. Don't see the point in adding community maps as the style varies so much it doesn't feel right IMO. The mod should still be compatible with them though. The terrain was simply MooMan's from his YR2 mod, wasn't intended to be part of the mod.

So I always planned a campaign which leads into a sequel, the story was pretty much all planned out from the beginning. But in future updates I'll rework the countries a bit replacing some of the specials and possibly vary them more, not sure and work on some new interesting game modes etc

Do you think the factions both need any extra unit roles? Or do you just want more units for the sake of it? #Tongue

Just for the sake of it mostly. ;p

What I've noticed is that the Soviets (or at least some Soviet countries) don't have artillery after building the radar. I was playing Tour of Egypt and an enemy AI fortified a pyramid close by my base at the start of the game. Took me a bit till I could safely clean it.

Hmm well all Soviets get the Siege Chopper which has a pretty decent range (13 compared with the Penguin's range of 13.5, Penetrator 11 or V3s 1Cool.
