Mental Omega 3.0 - April 2012 update!
Time to open the workshop to the masses again, and by that I mean several things. The first one being a new media update. Armies are gathering their weapons, people are creating legends about heroes. The war is inevitable. The question is: why do they fight? This question will remain unanswered for the time being.
Third of four Hero Spotlight episodes is here. This time we'll show you the Russian heroes and Euro Alliance commando, all thanks to ImP_RuLz!
With this, the surprise of not knowing who the next hero who will be shown is gone. All that's left is Scorpion Cell and Pacific Front. Or is it?
Time for weapons out of various arsenals from Azri_Apoc's great war factory. Here are some of them.
The country of origin and purpose for each of these (well, except for cargo planes and revised units of course) will remain a secret until we release the next pages of Mental Omega information on the site, OR until you play a beta of 3.0 and learn it yourself.
Regarding the beta, you might want to check this thread.
Big thanks to ImP_RuLz and Azri_Apoc for their continuous great work on new units!
That's it for today. Stay tuned! _________________ mentalomega.com Last edited by Speeder on Tue Apr 17, 2012 5:42 pm; edited 1 time in total QUICK_EDIT
Yar.. The heli and the battleship are nice, but the others I don't know about. The Yuri vehicle is OK, but the Demo Truck is so curvy that it looks like it belongs in the far future and the arms on the Yuri aircraft thing are really.. odd, and seem completely unfitting. QUICK_EDIT

Looks more similar to the Soviet Style in RA3 which is... Space Communist at what I can best describe it. _________________ ~ Excelsior ~ QUICK_EDIT
The gun on the battleship is a bit underwhelming compared to the rest of it IMO. The width to length ratio look wrong too, like it's missing half the hull :/ _________________

Some of the people in the staff didn't like and older version of the Battleship (i don't know if it was showed in public, but as you can guess, it had a more realistic length/width ratio), as it looked like a toy compared to the Dreadnaught. So Azri decided to change it to make it look more bulky.
But not a surprise that a warfare maniac like you noticed something like that. :p QUICK_EDIT

hmm...i have to agree with you miggy, but Speeder more like this buffed version, and IMO i really satisfied with this new version, besides it was totally made from scratch, original Battleship voxel by Tony also has a half hull, so i decide to stick with original physique.
and if you're saying that the turret is a bit 'underwhelm', then you should see the old version ones, i might call this as 'overwhelm', BTW the old version was a straight conversion from C&C Generals.
Sorry no ingames i'm lazy to make new one... _________________ Please, read the signature rules of the forum. QUICK_EDIT
I really don't see anything wrong with it. Sometimes it's better to skew proportions for visual reasons (excessively long and thin units don't look good)/game restrictions (cell size -> overlaps other cells) _________________
