I'll be offline for a while to update my pc. I bought an AMD Athlon 2000+ processor with 512mb of RAM. I know it's not the best thing for sale, but it's the best my motherboard supports and it was available for sale (my mb supports more RAM and a 2100+, but no one sold 2100+).

So, if anything goes wrong (I hope it doesnt), I might be using my dad's pc for a while, but if it goes right, I might be back in the next hours...

Gah! Operation failed! I bought an incompatible memory and I have to change it Sad. This means that I will be without my computer for one day, since I will only be able to get a new memory on afternoon and install it tomorrow night.

How much did that 2000+ cost you in Brazil?

Errr... sorry for the double posting, but I just have to say that I'm using my pc again. I got two modules of 256mb of RAM now, instead of one.

Memory is working fine, but the processor is weird. Sometimes it's detected as XP 2400+, but most of times it's detected as AMD Athlon 1250Mhz Mad, just like now. The processor is getting confused by the memory settings maybe... I'll still figure out what's happening, but I know that memory is set to 133 in BIOS and the multiplier from the cpu is locked on 12.5x. So, I see no problem at all... it's just... errr... ugly Neutral.

BIOS update... it's just your motherboard that's being an old ***, maybe it doesn't even support 133 FSB, and resets to 100 FSB (12.5 x 100 = 1250 afterall)

Again, don't worry about the cpu, it's the mb.

It was correct in the BIOS, but the jumpers were set to 200 by default... I fixed that already...

Okay, and the stability issue was fixed as well? (we're talking about this in two topics btw)
