Technically, a laser superheats the area it hits, vaporizing a portion of the material that due to the heat explodes outwards.

So basically, yes... light explodes.

Fun part, happens to both armour as well as organics.

Yeah, I also made those explosion of all explosml, explomed and exsplolrg to be blue, for some plasma explosions, and later used them for prism explosions.
Which explosion did you use to recolor as base for this?
