Halo 4 references Tiberium?
So, it seems Halo 4 will receive a map pack and one of the maps, titled "Shatter" bears more than a passing resemblance to C&C3 and Tiberium:
And, even more strange is that the vehicle in the first screenshot, the Mantis, looks a lot like the Wolverine from Tiberium:
If you don't believe me that this looks like Tiberium, here's some reference shots:
I'm thinking this is more of a coincidence, but it's a really funny one. And some people who worked on Halos 1 through 3 ended up working on Tiberium, if I recall correctly. QUICK_EDIT

The idea of crystals entangled with rock fits well with the whole "alien planet" feel. I'm surprised I don't see it more often, TBH. I love both Tiberian storylines and the new Halo storyline. They're both incredibly well written and the visuals are beyond amazing. _________________ "Reality is a lovely place, but I wouldn't want to live there." -Adam Young QUICK_EDIT

I don't buy the Wolverine thing. Both are boring cookie-cutter light mechs. They all look alike.
As for the crystals, IMO, it's a coincidence. Crystalline formations always look like that in video games (all the way back to Unreal and Quake II, up to Fallout NV's DLC). As DaTS said, it's really just an element of design to that tries to make the area look more "alien". It just so happens they chose green for the color as opposed to red (like in Fallout NV's DLC) or blue (like in Quake II and Unreal) _________________ YR modder/artist, DOOM mapper, aka evanb90

Looks nice though, I must say.
The specific palette choice for thw whole map, not only the green crystals, does give a Tiberium-y vibe, so who knows maybe it is intentional. QUICK_EDIT

It could be more than that, the next game series from Bungie, destiny has recently revealed concept art, which is clearly based on tiberium's concept art.
Example:
Not only the pose is the same... actually it is the same soldier, they just covered the helmet with a faceplate.
Was the staff that worked on Tiberium absorbed by bungie prior to their independization from microsoft, and the formation of 343industries?. QUICK_EDIT

in the back of my mind, I'll entertain the thought that Halo 4 has elements from Tiberium. Helps fight the pain of its untimely demise _________________ The Fall of Hammerfest - Epic Tiberian chain story

That looks good, though the green alien crystals might just be kryptonite for all we care Finally the lost FPS has been revived
CnC3 even has a shout-out to Halo in the form of the GDI Commandos, who are expies of the Spartans (and Halo in turn with the Grizzly in Halo Wars, which has clearly a Scorpion dressed as a Mammoth Tank). _________________ The future belongs to The Forgotten! QUICK_EDIT
