PPM News Roundup Dec/Nov 2012
Subject description: It's the time of the year that you need to know the recent past.
Bok! It's been a while since I haven't posted a news here and the reason, is of course, my university. In this term (that isn't over yet) I had to finish my master thesis and started my PhD at the same time. So, I've got even more overloaded than usual, which is why I'm quite quiet. Nonetheless, I just need to finish one subject now, so I have time to quickly cover the latest news that happened with our hosted projects. If you've checked the News Tracker, at the top of the site, then you haven't missed much.
ModDB Mod of the Year 2012
First of all, please vote on our mods that made the Top 100 of the MotY 2012. They are:
Head HERE to see the other 98 mods that made up the list.
Tiberian Sun
- Twisted Insurrection has displayed another one of their featured maps almost a month ago called Loyalty for 8 players. Click at the picture for more details:
- Tiberian Sun Squared will get a new patch to improve online play competitivity, among other things. This was announced at the end of october, but nothing happened since then. We are still watching it.
- Tiberian Odyssey is requesting user input on some of the buildings that are being modelled at this topic.
Red Alert 2
- Ares 0.2 has received a new stability patch to fix important AI issues, among other things:

Hi guys, here is the second maintenance update for Ares 0.2, which improves stability and fixes some bugs. The most important issue was the AI team building problem which could cause the AI from building one type of unit until its base was jammed.
The other bugs are super weapon cameo tooltips being cut off after 31 characters and aircraft using the new PoweredBy logic exploding multiple times when they go offline in air.
As long as no other critical bugs are revealed in Ares 0.2, this should conclude the Ares 0.2 series. Time to look forward...
- Tiberian Sun: Rewire looks more and more like Tiberian Sun, even if it requires Yuri's Revenge with Ares. I think the picture below says everything. Click at it for more details and higher resolution.
- D-Day has information of the British upgrades for early, mid, late and post-war.
- Tiberian Dawn Renegade new graphics were being revealed in late october and early november and some of the things showed were this Infantry Fighting Vehicle from GDI and Nod Artillery in the pictures below, as well as construction yard.
Generals
- Frontline Chaos has received pictures of how Dutchygamer is progressing with textures. Click at it for more details.
Tiberium Wars & Red Alert 3
- C&C Crossfire has new/revamped structures for GDI and Nod as seen in the pictures below.
- The WarFactory is recruiting people to help with graphics, testers and even public relationship. If you are interested, read this topic and answer it.
And, finally, I'd like to call everyone's attention to the Radar Colorizer. It's a tool created by Lin Kuei Ominae to change the radar colour from TMP files used in Red Alert 2 and Tiberian Sun. And LKO wants to expand into someting bigger. When I posted this news, the latest version was 1.06, but he might release something new before you read this news. Click at the pictures to get more details and download the tool.
And that's all for now. In order to end this news with style, check the latest episode from C&C Legos from The Hypnotist, from CNCNZ.com. This episode features Eric Gooch as Seth.

Funny thing: I announce that my mod (Frontline Chaos) will be on hold-ish due to shifting interests and other priorities, and I suddenly get more followers on ModDB QUICK_EDIT
If they defiantly needed one, would it not follow that they don't have one?

Just glare at the screen, shake your fist, and say "We need a PR writer!".
You mean definitely. Defiance is what three year olds and Winston Churchill have.
Well that should show how much I need one : P _________________ I am Zengar Zombolt, The Sword That Cleaves Evil! There is Nothing I can not Cut! QUICK_EDIT
