I noticed something in my experiment though I wonder if its just a concidence.

Is the AI from Tiberian Sun more aggressive by default?

I'll explain. Basically, while in my modding career all I really have to do to make the Sun AI more aggressive is set the AI team thing to lower, clone a few war factories and barracks to build and have it and make sure the 'smart AI' is checked. They will then attack whatever is in their range, enemy units etc when they go to the base until they kill everything.

In contrast, RA2 AI will succidally throw their units to kill a structure ignoring everything else no matter how damaging.

Is there anyway to make the RA2 more like the Sun one with attacking everything and not just ignoring all enemies just to attack a building?

You have to edit ai.ini
I assume most teams in RA2 use Suicide=yes, thus they ignore anything attacking them and simply run stupid to their target.

I dunno, the AI seems to engage my vehciles when I have tanks stationed out beyond my defenses.  The way targeting is set up I think that some of the enemy vehicles will stop moving and attack, some continue moving and attack, and some just keep moving.

Although that is just observation, and I may not have been fully aware of the circumstances (perhaps it was multiple groups that happened to be in the same space).

TS has lower hate delays, thats the only reason TS ai seems more aggressive and smarter. It really isn't.

In TS when you attack a single unit (and the don't have Suicide=yes), the entire team retaliates, compared with just the attacked unit in RA2. Can be a good thing or a bad thing depending on how you look at it. Funny thing to note is that aircraft don't seem to work this way, they act like in RA2.

one of the main differences i noticed between TS vs RA2 AI
was that

1. The size and strength of attacks in RA2 is an improvement over TS

however

2. AI in RA2 will continually attack from the same direction over and over where as in TS it at least attempts to attack from varying directions

Hm.

Also, to note, I've noticed that the Red Alert AI is the only one that is actually random. What I mean is, whether its Tiberian Sun/Red Alert two they always pick out of the teams in the AI ini file. But Red Alert one, they just build whatever and attack you. I wonder if there's a way to replicate that or its something that was lost.

Kind of ironic how the games got more advance, but the AI seemed to devolve in some ways.
