Hello!

So I got an HP pavilion g6 with:

4GB ram.

Intel core I5@ 2.40ghz

Intel HD graphics family paired with a radeon(TM) hd 4670M(1 gb dedicated memory)

Windows 7 64-bit

With these specs, my red alert 3 graphics are the following:

Resolution:800x600

Anti-Alias:off

Terrain:medium

Water:medium

Model:high

Shader:ultra

VFX:Ultra

Shadows:off

Vsync:off

Textures:high

P.S:With these settings i get 30fps (the maximum)

I always liked the red alert 3 water effects but if i set water on high i get 20-25 fps, red alert 3 has 30 fps max.

I spoke to my most trusted computer engineer and he told me to upgrade my RAM to 8gb, this way the graphics card will use the extra ram.

So is it possible to run the game with water on 30fps ?

Any other help will be appreciated.

I had this laptop for a few month, so please dont recommend me a new laptop.

Thanks!

Are you using the Radeon when gaming? Should be enough for RA3. I played it on a 9600 with better fps than that... with water no less.

Yes I use the radeon for gaming, but im going to go over details now:

I set water on high with my other settings, I start a game with 28-30 fps, but as i build and explosions and visual effects start to appear my performance gets weaker.

If i set water on medium, performance is amazing.

So what is recommended ?

Try turning Model, Shader and VFX to medium or high instead of what they are now.

Isnt there any way possible to the water on high without decreasing quality like increasing rams so the vga will use some of the ram as memory or something?

How come?

My engineer said with 8 gb the dedicated memory will increase.
He is my most trusted and he always solved any cpu problems i ever had, so there gotta be something.

The GPU is using its own dedicated memory, your system RAM doesn't affect it at all. Only the integrated Intel HD Graphics uses the system RAM, and no matter how much RAM you have, it's significantly weaker than the dedicated HD 4670M. In addition, I'm pretty sure that RA3 doesn't use even half of your 1GB VRAM (C&C3 isn't really even stressing my 512 MB HD4850 that much).

Your graphics processor is most likely just too weak, adjusting settings is all you can do.
