I am beginning a new mod project and spending a long time on preparation. I am looking to clear all unnecessary vehicles, infantry, weapons, projectiles, and warheads so i can start off clean. I notice the game crashes when I remove some of the content like the weedguy, and so forth. What content can't I remove to begin a new total conversion mod project?

Or better yet, does anyone have a Rules.ini and Art.ini completely stripped of all but the necessary content like MCV and so forth?

weedguy is tied to the multimissle logic, you can remove it, but remove the MM SW alltogether then.

open game.exe with a hex editor then search for things like DROPLAND. Several of these hardcoded IDs for animations mean, that you can't remove the animation.

Other than that you can pretty much reduce the game to only 1 building, vehicle and infantry for each side.

That's good to hear, I just like having organized coding and establishing that in the beginning of development helps dearly. I'm sure you all know what I mean   Wink

Sorry to bump the topic, but I figured it would be better than posting a whole new topic for a similar question.

I have these files in my TS Directory, and I'm unsure of what most of them do:

BLOWFISH.DLL
e01scd01.mix
e01scd02.mix
GAME.ICD
gmenu.mix
Language.dll
Launcher.bmp
MAPS01.MIX
MAPS02.mix
missions.pkt
multi.mix
multi01.pkt
patch.mix
SCORES.MIX
scores01.mix
SIDECD01.MIX
SIDECD02.MIX
SUN.LCF
SUN.TLB
TS1.DSK
TS2.DSK
Ts3.DSK
unins000.dat
unins000.exe
wdt.mix
wdtvox.mix

Which of those files can be safely deleted without causing issues with TS? I'm basically stripping down the entire game to just skirmish and internet play.

You can get rid of GAME.ICD, Launcher.bmp, SUN.LCF, SUN.TLB, TS1.DSK, TS2.DSK, Ts3.DSK, unins000.dat, unins000.exe, wdt.mix and wdtvox.mix.

SIDECD01.MIX and SIDECD02.MIX can also be removed if you only wanna play online, but you do need to keep them if you still wanna be able to play singleplayer missions.
