I don't really know how to rename a cameo like the ones in Mental Omega or at least anybody can give me a step-by-step tutorial on how to rename them? I believe they where using those named cameos done by WW.

naming cameos how?

If by the hover text you change the Name: Text by putting in the edited Name Entry from your custom ra2md.csf or using Ares' NOSTR:Unit Name

For Cameos you make a new graphics for the cameo be it PCX File or in SHP File.

Are you talking about changing the actual words drawn on the icon itself? You would have to open it in a SHP editor (or photoshop if it's a PCX file) and blot out the words.

I would then strongly recommend converting to SHP if it's not already, and using SHP Builder's built-in cameo generator tool. It will write the words on the cameo for you and shade the background behind them automatically, as well as apply "button sheen" effects depending on what setting you choose.

why did they change from TS cameo text anyway? no way to enable that back?

Possible perhaps, since the relics of that code probably linger somewhere in RA2, but it wouldn't look the same. I for one prefer the look of RA2's cameos.

RA1's Cameos had text merged into the graphics itself. So they were probably aiming for that style I guess...

Into Head of Yuri. Will I follow WoRmINaToR's advice?

Then that you must remove the Text with Photoshop,GIMP or whatever Graphic Program.

I wouldn't Cameo Generator won't use custom pals.

For PCX cameos, I'd do a blank only-text version of the cameo in SHPBuilder export that one, make blue transparent on it, take LaoTze's additional layers and throw up all into the cameo I'm making.
