Mod Announcement
RA2: Moscow's vengeance

SORRY ABOUT BIG PICS!!

RA2: Moscow's vengeance is my alternate sequal to the original C&C: Red Alert, it is based on the YR engine purely for extra modability allowed by the YR engine in comparison to the TS and RA2 engines. There will be no yuri in the finished mod but a certain brotherhood with a certain bald ex-westwood employee *MAY* appear, I'm not sure yet whether it is possible to work them into the C&C storyline in RA2 or whether an RA3 equivalent might be necessary to do so *IF* I ever do.

The plot is simple, due to unforseen circumstances that occured to westwood between RA1 and RA2 it basically became an exercise in applied Insanity, maybe a slightly overblown and overly comic-syle game was what was needed after the dark and gloomy TS, I don't know. But RA2 does not fit into the canon of the C&C series as it was originally meant to (it was stated by westwood that RA was a PREQUEL to Tiberian Dawn).

I intend to fix this, RA2/RA3 should fit in between RA1 and TD, even if RA3 ends up being a series of skirmishes, assasinations and exploitation of the newly arrived tiberium.

My Idea of the Storyline:
RA1(Allies win, Brotherhood goes underground)->RA2(Allies win again, Brotherhood gains influence in ex-soviet territory)->RA3/pre-TD (possibly just skirmishes)->TD(GDI wins)->TS&FS(GDI wins again...)->Tiberian Twilight -winner Unknown...- (not Tiberian wars, it is missing many key C&C elements and was not made by westwood, even though they were under EA ownership for TS and FS).

It will revive some of the better units of RA1 and add some new ones, attempting to keep that good old red alert feeling alive without the light/heavy tank spamming and useless infantry.

I would like some help with:
Building SHPs
Infantry SHPs
Terrain (I can get samples of each type I just need them blended, sloped etc)
A logo/banner
menu GFX

PM me if you're interested, credit will be given.

I have some voxels done and after a little balancing a beta will appear (some time in the next 7 days).

Wilco, I have an OK one at present but both sides are missing niche units, some naval and air units and infantry...

All help is appreciated however.

Anyways, ingames, they look different on my monitor, it's a 19" widescreen

UPDATE
Dutchygamer is working on an AI now and after a tweak or two (adding some basic cameos and a little more balancing, it's ok but 1 or 2 tweaks are needed) the beta will be released, it just depends on dutchy's life and free time, and my amount of free time.

And if you read this and haven't already voted on the poll please do, even if your name is Gufu or GSGSRDHTRDUJRFKTY AKA darknessvolt and you just want to click randm spam.

*Random Spam*
Allies beat Yuri, lock him up, and are in an alliance with Soviets.... Meanwhile, THe scrin detech an energy signal from deep in outer space (they see the chronosphere's energy signal). Sensing it was unknown intelligent life, they launch a ship loaded with tiberium to begin initial infestation.... Back on Earth, the brotherhood decide that the time is right to topple the soviet union. As the soviet leader is on a plane to a peace conference, a black hand commando squad hijacks an allied Patriot site and shoots down the soviet plane. The Soviets think it's the Allies, and in retaliation invade Europe. The Brotherhood, wanting to make especially sure that the soviets get destoryed, Free Yuri and let him lose. Yuri takes over Australia and remains there while the allies and soviets continue fighting.... Allies have pushed back Soviets and because of internal uprisings, the empire finally falls....meanwhile an unidentified meteroite crashes into australia. Yuri, who is under the orders of Kane, begins experimenting with tiberium and makes alot of research, research which eventually is used by Nod to give them a technological edge in TD. The allies prepare a massive assault on Australia, but right before they attack, Kane kills Yuri, and has all the buildings self destruct, and all traces of tiberium destoyed, so the allies have no idea what happened. Kane escapes and goes underground... The allies, feeling they have finally seen the end of Yuri and put the nail into the coffin of the Soviets, create a united Nations. A branch is denoted to help deal with any organization that practises world domination or terrorism, and this organization is known as the Global Defense Initiative. 1995 the second tiberium meteorite strikes, Kane, the only one on earth who knows what it is, uses it to get the Brotherhood in a position of world power....everything goes on as normal except unbeknowest to you, Kane contacts the alien ship that is in earth's orbit and cause mutny on it. The aliens who are sympathetic to Kane create the tacitus, but because the ship is fighting with itself, it crashes onto earth, and Kane takes over it (in the second war).

Random spam out, and why? because I am "technically British". Wink. Nice Mig.

First of all:
You're a Tw*t! You just spoke a whole load of b*llcks that is so stupid I can't believe it! What about the Chrono and prism tech? Tesla weaponry and mirage stuff? and Operations group Echo, Black ops 9 (pre-TD GDI) is announceed in an RA cutscene (the grece one).

Secondly, thx for the compliment.
Thirdly, most americans are descendants of British immigrants and therefore there is a high chance you have British blood in you!

And don't spam my mod announcement!

You're a bloody w*anker! jk, actually I haven't beaten the allies campaign in ra1, or completed either campaign in TD. I just tried to come up with a logical explanation to connect the two series. The soviets were destroyed in my explanation, so tesla stuff is out (unless buried somewhere and later to be found), and some weapons could be kept for specific countries to ensue their own protection (prism for example) while other may be outlawed entirely for the safety of humanity (chrono stuff).

I might be able to suplly you with an infantry guy or more (I'm trying to work with renegade/generals stuff right now, so maybe a conversion, or atleast I will start giving my own artwork dual purposes, once in w3d and then rendered unto .shp). BTW, did you make those .vxls from a 3d model or did you "lego" them up from scratch?

Back to Britian, is there alot of dental schools over there, not that I'm insinuating that your teeth or any of your countrymen's teeth are bad, but I do in fact plan on becomming a dentist.

lol @ w*anker, u did it wrong, u replace a vowel with a * .

I made em from scratch except the MBT which is kinda based off of my old Medium tank voxel (kinda, it's only based on the section size, I made a 1 voxel thick section of the side and then C/Ped it to the shape I wnted the track guards, did the body the same way then shaded it).

And if at all possible can I get the GDI rifle inf, rocket dude and officer as TS sized SHPs in the RA2 pallette please? THX

And yeah, my plan was that prism tech never happens and some tesla gets put in the obelisk (with the sovs keeping "normal" tesla in the form of a shock inf style unit and highly expensive but now even more deadly tesla coil).

I don't know how long I will be able to get you the infantry, but once I do, I'll get it to you. As a side note however, I don't think Renegade has remap on it, since there are only two sides at any given time, nod and gdi. Remap for ra2 is the red section, and nod has plenty of red on them.

Anyways, I'll see what I can do, there's like what? 30 characters? Shouldn't take me more then 3 years Wink. You want the flamethrower chef too?

#alien

My ancestors weren't teabags. That's a terrible generalization, less than 30% of Americans have significant British decent. We're mostly German.

This does not include the states of Florida, Texas, California, New York, New Mexico and Nebraska. Those have Cubans, Mexicans, Chinese or Native Americans.

If you want to do the typical stereotyping America, don't forget the bible beating, obese oil addicts! Rolling Eyes

The British arguement is like an ongoing joke I have with him, I forgot where it started though. At one point he declared I was "technically british" because I knew of the existance of BBC.

Anyways, in regards to the renegade guys, I've pretty much figured out how to get the model, and how to animate it, problem is that the weapon is not part of the guy (since in Renegade you can possess like every weapon with every guy, it only makes sense not to attach one weapon to one person). That can be fixed in paint though (it will take a while though) there is a second problem of no shadow, but a paint job can fix that also. Please note, I will be taking my sweet time with this.

Ok, thanks. Yeah, the "technically British" thing is ongoing, so don't worry dutchy Wink

And it wasn't just that you knew of the BBC, where'd you think the pilgrim fathers came from?

Probably somewhere on the same island, they left england because we don't like obsessive, fanatical religious weirdos, so they went to holland, then they left holland because the dutch were too liberal, then they sailed across the pond, about 50 of them with 100 people looking after the bank's investment in the expedition.

Cool, the actual units need more worlking on before you get the AI to try and use them, however I looked through the rules, there were a few units that don't exist in my mod and some that have been disabled... I will get back to you with a list of units/what they do and a breif description of a taskforce or two, when the rest of the beta is ready.

And partypaulzanzy I'm using your GI remake as my allied rifleman, credit will be given, however it has been resized.

would you consider doing this mod for Generals? My current project I am doing for generals is progressing slowly (I can;t get the dam infantry to work, or atleast *hold a weapon*), lacks motivation, and have almsot no goals (I'm kinda just teaching myself generals, and I was going to add gdi/nod just to go through all the aspects off adding a new side). I can teach you everything I know, and let you work in glorious 3d.

Nah, sorry... My 3d skills amount to the square root of sod all and on RA2 I've got a guaranteed audience, some assets and knowledge and I'm comfortable with it's limits. I looked at the china vehicles ini file in generals and uttered "WTF?!?" before I'd finished reading the battlemaster's entry.

So ATM= No, sorry and I'll have competition on 3D anyways from those guys who are doing an RA2 sequel, the real RA3 and all the other good 3d mods. Not to say there aren't any good 2.5D ones but I'd be out of my depth... sorry.

Weren't there a post in Freedom's shoutbox by Albrecht some months ago that the sole reason he didn't resurrected MV in this year was because he lost the assets?

You did not offend anyone, you just do not read rules, as 90% of newly registered people.
If topic is old, then do not reply (bump it) if you do not have useful to say on it. Almost everyone hates that.
Also, (we said that already) personnel questions is not going to be asked in people's mod threads, therefore you will open new thread for it.
That means that we will keep conversation there in your thread (I see that you just replied there finally, which is good move)

You doesn't seem to read rules either, MasterHaosis. At least, the rule that asks everyone to not flame others is posted in many topics.

By the way, read this topic to be aware on how to behave when others doesn't pay attention to rules:
