mysterious pic
the picture in the attachment is originally a pcx. import over OS SHP results in a warning message that pcx support is limited and I should use another file instead. XCC MIX EDITOR refuses to copy it as a SHP however makes a jpg of it, it refuses to copy said jpg to a shp.
the pcx is originally from Aydra cameo pack.
what kind of sorcery is this?
another pcx out of the pack, obelisk1 worked fine to copy to shp.
well I do have a workaround. I make a screenshot of the pcx and copy that. figured it would interest the OS SHP devs (you?) that it doesn't accept these files. that goes for most of the pics from the package.
as the error message doesn't indicate anything apart from it not wanting to copy it its rather mysterious to me. _________________ Free Tibed!

It interests me to know what's going on. My problem is being busy with the conference and trip in these days. I'll take a look at it anyway, once I get some free time at my home. QUICK_EDIT

Why so complicated. Every tiny picture viewer or full scaled drawing program can convert images.
IrfanView->use the batch conversion-> voilà, multiple pictures converted from one format into another in no time.
Or copy the image to clipboard and paste it in SHP Builder. (<- or is it this what you mean with "make a screenshot" ?)
Well XCC isn't gonna be able to copy it as an SHP because it's not 256 colours. Not sure about SHP Builder as I don't usually use it to import things, but that might also be the issue (perhaps it's a requirement for PCX). QUICK_EDIT
@LKO I used the snipping tool that comes with windows 7. Saved it as a png which then can be copied to shp.
thx for the hints.
@OB I tried to verify that but failed to find out how to make it 256 colors. some option in paint? thought it was under "save as" then select color. _________________ Free Tibed!

Not sure if you can do it in paint, try using Irfanview (got to Image -> Decrease Color Depth, or a program like Photoshop). Any more advanced image editor should be able to do it. QUICK_EDIT
