AI questions
How do I get the AI to build units i added in?
for instance I added the Helghast Light Tank to Germany and removed the Grizzly from them, the AI will not build any new Light tanks, but will build other's like the Battlefortress. QUICK_EDIT
you have to add them to the AI file. There are a few AI comments on the first 2 pages somewhere. I am pretty sure. I know I posted a dl of AI stuff.

Replace the 4 with a 10? It's not really rocket science you know This, while a bit outdated, should help.
Well if you read the guide I used, it didn't exactly explain what's what with any sort of example, and the examples in the actual aimd.ini weren't all that good, I just did a little thing guessed as best I could and hoped for the best. QUICK_EDIT
Remember you can only have six different (0-5) types of units in a single taskforce.
So the number before th e= can only be 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 or 5.
If you have 4 units on index 0, 4, 5, 7, only 0, 4, 5 are read.
The number after the = is the amount of the specific unit.
The text after that number refers to unit declaration in rules(md). Note that it cannot be a building.

Have you tried looking at the examples Westwood left in ai.ini?
Since I do not understand anything but the names, and the guide I was pointed to didin't overly explain what did what, or what went where... the "examples" in the Aimd.ini make no sense.
an example is only an example if it explains itself in every way possible, and from that is how people learn.

Also, I'd recommend looking up the definition of 'example'. Your using it incorrectly.
As to your task force:

X=Y,Z
Group=-1
X=Line number. First line is 0, next is 1, next is 2 and so on. It caps out at 5.
Y=Number of that unit to build.
Z=What unit to build.
So, 0=4,HGHTank would make the AI build 4 HGHTanks. 0=10,GHGTank would make it build ten of them.
The next line would start with a 1, so 1=1,Tsar3. Leaving the first number as a 0 is why you only get one unit type build. Each line needs a higher number. _________________ "It's got that Droke style to it!" QUICK_EDIT

I know this is quite late(but I'd like to not open another topic about this) I gave made the Task Force and such, and here's what I see going on:
The Germans are building Reich Gunships and Panzer III's and Scout Panzer's but I did NOT put any of those units on the task forces, why are they building these units? I essentially told them to build Stormtroopers, Tsar tanks and Panzer II's. QUICK_EDIT

I checked my aimd.ini, and saw it there also, but the explanation provided on that page makes no sense, guess the AI is quite complicated to work with then? thought it would have been so simple...
infact, I've noticed somehow, the enemy building Soviet Battleships AND USING them to great effect against me(despite the fact it's for Soviets only!)
not to mention, you didn't really answer my question(maybe you don't know either?) QUICK_EDIT
AI only does what it is told to. So, check for other teams or usage of same team by many triggers for the units in question
in the ai(md).ini that the game uses. Other ways to get units is by paradrops or crates etc. which usually won't match the
specified team composition in ai.ini. QUICK_EDIT
Oh, well I thought Ai.ini was purely for RA2 and aimd.ini was for Yuri's Revenge(like the rulesmd.ini and rules.ini)
Mistakes on Deezire not working, and for the INI bible... dead god do people not know how to write?! I can't even read it!
what format was he using? apparently not Wordpad(and I'm assuming notepad? if so, all I can do is shake my head and wonder why no one uses Wordpad...) QUICK_EDIT
The .doc format used for the Deezire INI guides is the one used in old versions of Microsoft Office, not the limited Wordpad .doc format. If you are having issues getting it to display, download the free Microsoft Office File Viewer. QUICK_EDIT
Apache OpenOffice will open it as well. And it should open fine in WordPad too. _________________ KGR | AT
