And......If you ever downloaded my old redeemers, you should delete the 9th frame with its shadows. Somehow it got one more frame in the walking. Redeemer in this pack is fixed.

awesome stuff!!

The MARV might look a little odd on slopes being shp and all, but I guess slopeless maps are OK too

MARV should be a voxel, but other that that I think the smaller ones looks more sensibly proportioned.

The wrong and missing lighting/shading kinda ruins these, or at least makes them completely unfitting to any vanilla RA2 object.

So? If you're using these things in a mod, odds are the Allies and Soviets and Yuri ain't gonna be in it.

I think both sets look good - one for TS, and one for RA2/YR - though I am definitely inclined toward the smaller ones - the MARV is just absurdly huge.

odds are, that any mod is using a consistent lighting very similar to TS/RA2 lighting and not this wrong one.

i like small version of epic unit specialize Redeemer size. but IMO MARV and Hexapod [small version] seem too small. at least they should larger than Tripod IMO.

and Hexapod on Cheese?

that's better.
But the materials also need some work. They need a higher Specular Level to give them sun reflections and make them look less like plastic, but more like metal.
Some Bumpmaps would also help. You can simply use an instance of the Diffuse Map for the Bumpmap.

can't be the same. look at the shadow. In the ingame the shadow is going east, while in the box-preview it is going straight northeast (which is correct).

Also look at the big Redeemer how it is lighted like the sun is directly above the unit.

Another very important point i just noticed. The units miss entirely self-shadowing.
The Redeemer should have the left upper leg close to the hip shadowed by the upwards going knee/bottom leg.

Another thing i noticed. The shadow in the ingame preview looks like you use an omni-light and not a directional light, which is another issue. Omni lights don't work since they don't emit light in parallel beams like the sun is doing in reality. For this a directional light is necessary.
You can see this on the ingame shadow, how it is bigger the closer it is to the unit. Parallel lights have the shadow at the same size as the shadow caster regardless how far it is away.

Why are the shadow casting spot light and the directional light on 2 different positions? They have to be on the same location.

The selected directional light with the XYZ-axis is on the wrong location. If that view is from the camera, then the directional light needs to be moved to the left to the other spot light.

The spot light has no parallel light emitting like the directional light. Thus the shadow is wrong like explained before. Let the directional light cast the shadow or change the spot light into a directional light.

As you can see on the close up, the unit isn't shadowing itself. The main body should cast a shadow on the right legs. In your case all legs look the same. Check the model settings if self-shadowing is enabled.

You can download my building foundation example which has a correct light and camera setup. Then adjust yours accordingly.

You can put the spotlight on 'Overshoot' to make the light radius go away. Looks a bit less peculiar.

The radius is no problem since it's outside of the cameras visible area.
The bigger problem is that a spot light creates a different shadow depending on the distance towards the object. The closer the spotlight, the bigger the shadow. And this creates those "bubble" shaped shadows and not the accurate parallel shadows the game is using on everything else. Especially on big objects you can see the effect of the "bubble" shadow very good, like the hexapod and redeemer.

While it does make those "bubble" shaped shadows, you can avoid them entirely so long as the spotlight is far enough away, say the distance of the camera. I use spotlights on my scene as well as 1 direct sun light. Just need to learn lighting better is all.

I agree with LKO though, the shadows are definitely off as the light is way too close. From the screenshot you can tell by looking at the epic Hexapod, its left has considerably larger shadows than the right, while the sun does do this, it would have to be at least 45 degrees or lower from setting/rising to make this effect, and AFAIK the "sun" RA2 uses is about 75 degrees.

tl;dr - Move the spotlight alot further away.

it's not much, but still noticeable.
And with the other lighting and material fixes applied, the units should turn out much better.

I think it's called the Hexinimi or something alike

TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME BEFORE LISTENING sorry I cranked the sound file volume because for some reason I have to otherwise after its in audio.bag

[SmallTesla]
Sounds=tesla11s
Control=random interrupt
Volume=95

even with volume at 95 in SoundMD its very quiet if I don't krank the sound file volume, like it sounds normal in the sound program and played with media player etc. but once its ingame its way to quiet.
