After trying to address the problem in http://ppmsite.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=517274 through testing vanilla YR with Ares 0.7, and changing...something...YR absolutely refuses to work, throwing a fatal error in the main menu. Mad I have NO idea what it could be that's doing it, either - whatever I've changed in any of the inis usually(like, 99.999...% of the time) shoots me an error at the loading screen or ingame when constructing a unit/building. But this... this is a complete mystery, and the EIP doesn't exist on ModEnc's (most likely extremely outdated) IE page.

It's crashing calling a movie it looks like. So, it's probably crashing on the initial movie. If you remove your mod entirely, does it work?

Yeah. But, the only modified movie files I've had are blank versions of: the EA Games intro, and the radar screen anim that plays during the menu. And up until this happened, they worked fine - no changes were made to those.

Indeed, a bink file couldn't be opened. Can you post the debug.log?

No debug.log was generated from this run - the last one I had was from 2013.
EDIT:
Just attempted another run, got a debug.log this time.
I did find what FurryQueen was talking about in here, too.

Default
Play_Movie() as Bink!
Bink Error: Not a Bink file.

Exception handler fired!
Exception C0000005 at 005C08A9
n submit that to the developers (along with debug.txt and syringe.log).
Default
Default
Exiting...

Oh boy. I found what my problem was. Somehow, a bink file got corrupted and XCC Mixer and YR think it's a w3d file, even though the extension is still .bik. Weird.
