Allied Airforce Command
RA2 Structural series 1 of 3.
Because of the particular environment map used by default in CnC3, and due to the way that this kind of mapping works, I am struggling to get the windows to have a blue tint.
Because the windows point downward, the environment map is projecting the ugly bland 'sand' floor onto the windows.
If I wanted to solve this issue I would probably have to use a different environment map (there are shaders that allow this in CnC3).
Another big problem was the size of the towers and associated structures vs the room for aircraft. In order for the aircraft to fit correctly without overlapping on one another, either the structure itself would have to be huge, or the aircraft very small!
I increased the aircraft landing area by about 20%, but it might still be too small.
The way that the Airforce Command is designed means that a lot of space is wasted on the tower structures. If I increase the size of the floor too much, it might no longer look like the RA2 version.
Finally, without the flashing and sequential lights, has well has the spinning radar, this structure is quite dull.
I used the CnC3 specular blue channel 'glow' (self illumination) on some of the lights, if I was to further develop this structure, I would use a proper emissive shader.
