Please note: This is not my model

This is an unwrap and texture that I did on a Tiberian aftermath model.

I will probably reduce the glossiness of the specular at a future date.

Wow, that's a beautiful Banshee, and you texturing work is again outstanding.
I wish you would do a short tutorial how you create such fitting textures. (from unwrapping to photoshop)

Thanks!

Maybe sometime in the future I might show some work in progress type posts, it is not the same has a tutorial, but is better than nothing.

Something that would help is already an explanation how you create those gritty textures. If i would create them, there would be only a plain black and plain red colored area.
Do you use some random drawing technique to create those little scratches and dents?
Also the thin brighter/metallic color along the corners is really cool. I guess this is something you can only do nice once you have the model unwrapped and an exported unfolded surface texture.

But then there are details like the vents/grill on the side, which i would rather do as a part of the 3d-model than drawing it for hours in gimp, while in the end it still looks artificial (the matching bumpmap is cool too).

Aircraft Series: 2 of 4.

Here is a C&C3 style texture for this Banshee. It would probably be used for an upgraded version.

Sweet. I think the first and original banshee looks way better.
