I looked around and could only find tutorials on adding Music/songs to Yuri, and so I had to guess as to how to do this. Would anyone mind helping me understand how to add Unit Voice sounds? I looked at a few examples and thought this looked right.

[SoundList]
1020=KessSelectOne

[KessSelectOne]
Sounds= KessSelect
Control= random
Volume=100

And put "KessSelect.wav" in the game directory with my INI, SHP, and Voxels. Is it much more complicated then this? Thanks for any help.

Thememd.ini controls music. For sounds you need to put the .wav in an audio.bag file unless you're using Ares. To do that, use XCC sound editor.

Thanks. Took a bit for me to figure how to convert the sounds to the proper format, but I got the sounds to show up in game.

The voices each team plays when you, build something, are under attack, repairing, etc. Can, say, America and France have different ones? Or are they set so all the allies/soviets have the same voice play?

If you are using Ares then it's possible but you'll need to separate the countries into individual sides instead of Allied/Soviet/Yuri etc.

I've been coming to this site for years and always see people talking about Ares. I've never used it, but it seems like it's pretty amazing. Is it something you can just get and use, or does it take a bit of research to properly understand? Seems about time I tried it.

Ares is an add-on extension you can put in the YR Directory pretty much.

Its new features are similar to how you would write the code for the rest of the game though so it shouldn't be too much to learn.

Is there a good source of documentation about what someone can do with it? Tutorials and all that? I'd hate to come here and try to get people to explain simple things over and over again.

From what I think I understand about it, it allows you to change some hard coded stuff, like adding new super weapons as well as a completely new team? Seems like the kind of thing I'd need a lot of help with.
